I am requesting a spoiler for "A History of Violence", please
Watched part of it last night and had very disturbing dreams, and my family didn't want to finish it today and I just got too busy myself to catch the rest of it. Also found some of the shots of gory faces and blown-in heads a bit much, but the story was intriguing and the acting terrific.

I'll most likely see it through one of these days, but will someone who's seen it finish the story for me?

I got through to when Tom/Joey went back to Philadelphia to see his brother, his brother said "You could die" and Tom/Joey was attacked from behind. At that point, I'd had enough for one night.

Please, please tell me what happens from there on out... I'd very much appreciate it.

1. You mean after Richie's guys try to get him with the piano wire?
SPOILERS
Tom/Joey hits the blonde dude in the head that drove him to Richie's place. Then he gets another one and finally takes one out with the guy's own guy. Richie has by then fled ot the outside of the house and Tom/Joey shoots him point break range in the head. Tom/Joey then drives back to Indiana and the family is eating dinner and the little girl gets the plate and puts it at the table. The film then ends.
Thats as accurate as I could get, I saw it last night too and liked it, thought it was a really interesting story.

You were very near the end of the movie. Tom/Joey successfully defends himself agains all attackers (occasioning more violence, like kicked-in heads), and then there's a little game of cat-and-mouse around the mansion for a while, and then T/J gets the drop on his brother and shoots him without too much hesitation.

Then T/J hops in his car and drives home, where his family are all waiting around the dinner table. They all eye him up a bit, then they serve him some potatoes. An uneasy domestic detente, but they appear to be willing to let him just be Tom again.

A great ambivalent ending, the perfect capper to a movie I liked very much.

3. thank you both. I had no idea I was so near the end.
I was really intrigued by what was going to happen to the family situation.

And nice to see you around, JohnKleeb!

4. You know in a way even though Tom/Joey's life was a lie
It made me yearn to live in a small town where everyone knows each other, wait I kinda got that now.
