The critics apparently like it. But I'm getting pretty tired of films set in foriegn countries in the past and the lead role is always a white male american. Especially when it's played by Tom "I am NOT gay! So stop saying that!" Cruise.

3. My only hope in this movie is that they used a lot of legitimate Japanese

actors, so hopefully they are keeping it true to form and not letting it be an Americanized bastardization.

And hopefully the excellent Japanese actors they used will have kept Tom "I'm a suckwad POS of an actor but I draw big crowds because Americans are intellectually challenged Dolts" Cruise in check, and maybe forced him to actually act for once.

My partner (Japanese, and currently in Japan) says that the Japanese are eagerly awaiting this movie because many of their treasured Japanese actors are in it, but more importantly they believe the story to actually be good and fairly accurate to history, the real role of samurais, and the culture of the time.

I just saw the preview teaser last weekend, and was appalled by it, which compelled me to ask my partner about it. She assured me this should be a really good one. (Why was I appalled? Because I assumed it was a bastardized fake history that would appeal to the ignorance of the American movie-going public, and the inclusion of Tom Cruise only helped to solidify in my thoughts that this would be a myopic, pedantic, aesthetically challenged ignorant POS, like Top Gun and Mission Impossible and every other action-style film that sad little Scientologist ass has done).

I still have a feeling that Cruise will have done a piss-poor job of acting, but I will await seeing it to make that judgment.

Tom "I am TOO a heterosexual" Cruise.
