8. I got in a snow storm in Kentucky earlier this week
I was cruising up the AA highway when I ran into freezing rain. It quickly turned to snow. I almost got stuck on one of the hills down there when a 4 wheeler spun out in front of me and I had to stop on an incline. I put the truck in third to get going again and let off the clutch. I started going backwards. Luckily my truck is equipped with a power divider that can give you power to your middle axle. It took me ten minuites to get up that hill wheels spinning the whole way and my truck going forward in a dogleg fasion. I made it off the double 'A' and into Cincinnati. The city was almost shut down. Luckily again I was able to take a route that avoided most of the bad stuff. It took me 5 hours to go 120 miles.

All that and we didn't see a flake of snow in February. Go figure.

9. We have not had a substantial rain since October.
Edited on Wed Mar-22-06 08:02 PM by texas1928
and now we have had Storms and now snow. I told people we would get snow this year at an unexpected time. They just would not listen.

I feel for you in that 18 wheeler. My dad drove propane transport for years.

10. I see from your profile that you are from Lubbock
I guess snow would be kind of rare there. You guys probably get more freezing rain in the winter if you get any bad weather at all. Correct?

11. Well really we get a lot of snow.
Both election days in 2000 and 2004 we got over 8 inches of snow. December 2000 we got 18 inches of snow. We do get a lot of ice too. But we get a lot of snow.

12. Wow, I didn't know that
I thought about the only place in Texas that got any amount of snow was Amarillo up there in the panhandle. Learn something new every day.
