13. Luck had nothing to do with it.
First there was the illegal voter purge. Then there was the "Jews for Buchanan" butterfly ballot designed by a Republican who conveniently changed her party registration. Then there was voter intimidation on Election day itself, aimed at African Americans. And finally, the fact that John Ellis, first cousin of the Bush brothers and namesake of Jeb, was the one who called the Bush "victory" for FAUX news.

There's 4 reasons up to and including election day. Doesn't even account for all the fraud and fascism which came afterwards.

20. Can't believe no one isolated debate #1
1)Gore's theatrics in that debate turned off a significant chunk of the gender gap edge he had swayed via the convention and throughout September. I watched the debate with about 20 people, and the 10 apolitical women were particularly appalled by Gore's sighs and general lack of restraint while Bush was speaking. "I can't believe I was actually going to vote for that guy," one of them said.

2) Lewinsky and other Clinton scandals, real and invented, stripped Gore of the margin of error he should have enjoyed due to the economic conditions.

3) Stronger Green candidate (Nader) than Reform candidate (Buchanon). Except in Palm Beach County, of course. One poster mentioned that more Dems voted for Bush than Nader. Duh. That's always true of a major party candidate, as opposed to minor. More Republicans voted for Gore than Buchanon. But since Nader's apparent swiping from Gore was about 3-fold what Buchanon took from GW, it crippled us in states like Florida and New Hampshire.

Beyond the top 3: the Elian Gonzalez incident and how it turned off south Florida Cubans; the purging of the Florida voter rolls; the hands-off treatment of GW by our liberal media.
