Our insurance agent said I should run my husband over in our backyard.
Or at least, he said that would be the "best" way for him to die, because all of our insurance policies with them (home, car, and life) would kick in. What an agent- always keeping our best interests in mind!

1. Joking, at first...
just to gauge your reaction, and if you we're cool with it, he'd proceed with further details...

6. Actually, it was my husband he told..
perhaps he thinks I'm cunning and evil and was trying to warn him.

2. Sounds like he's a keeper!
It's great when they have a sense of humor.

When I upgraded my life policy (and added one for my daughter) my agent had to legally set eyes on my daughter as proof of her existence. She started joking about how her main office probably thinks that someone would self-inflict a c-section scar just for fun.

I like her for that reason.

3. Right, then the pay out from the policies could pay for your defense.
Geez. You have State Farm, too, don't you?

7. How did I know?
Oh, right, because they're a bunch of sociopaths.

Note to DU State Farm employees: kidding. You know I love you.

5. Psst ... I don't think you'd get to spend it.
Well, unless you could PROVE it was an accident. Thanks for the laugh, though.
