Which MP3: iPod or Zen Vision:M?
I'm buying an MP3 player finally and don't know which one of these to buy- they both have video, but the Zen has better video quality and battery life, but the Ipod is sleeker and has better support (iTunes) and accessories.

Any techies out there with the answer?

3. iPod also has the advantage of "AAC" format.
AAC compresses MP3 files even further, without noticeable loss of quality. And, WinAmp plays AACs, too.

I took my MP3s and processed them into AAC using iTunes. My collection went from 68 gigs to 51 gigs.

That's one good reason to go with iPod. I just wish they'd do something about their battery issues. Like make them consumer-replaceable, for example.

5. Zen, you can buy a 40 dollar replacement battery for it

in two years (all batteries will eventually stop taking a charge) versus scraping the Ipod with it's NON-REPLACABLE battery...
I've loved my creative mp3 players since the late nineties, no complaints.

6. I concur...
I love my Zen. I've had a 20GB for over a year now with no complaints. I have about 3,000 tracks on it with 12GB to spare

8. The Creative Zen Touch or something else?
I'm deciding which one to get as well. Is there anything (good/bad) I should know about the Zen machines before purchasing?

7. iPod...about the battery
buy it at Best Buy and get the 3 year warranty. When the battery dies (usually after about a year), they will replace it with a brand new iPod, for free. No hassle. No problems.

9. There are kits you can buy to replace an iPod's battery yourself
The kit includes the battery and the tool (tools?) necessary to open up the iPod. I just wish that Apple were a little more realistic/honest about how long the battery will last per charge. I have an iPod nano and a Shuffle (which I use more than the nano, go figure), and Apple claims "up to 14 hours" for the Nano, but I've never gotten more than 7-1/2 or 8 out of mine.

Even with the battery life, I'm still glad I picked them up. :)
