Or, really, any marine mammal; they seem to have more fun than anybody. They all share a spirit of extreme playfulness: otters (both river and sea), seals and sea lions, dolphins, whales, et al. The only waterborne mammals that don't seem to enjoy themselves all the time are the manatees, and their main problem is being chewed up by the propellors on outboard motors and other careless human actions.

I once read a science fiction story where the dying human race decides to leave important scientific information on impervious metal plaques to guide the next ruling species, which they decided would be the otter. And the scientists come up with a series of simple equations that explain everything we've ever thought was important, including a Theory of Everything that they've just cobbled together that unites general relativity and gravity (the big problem Einstein wanted to solve), and they're gonna have this humongous dedication ceremony over that plaque before they cache it in a big underground vault so the otters don't find it too soon.
