My Goodness, It Is Snowing REALLY Hard!
I live on eastern Long Island, NY.

We are getting a snowstorm moving up from the South and there's another snowstorm tomorrow coming from up North.

It's a double whammy!

Ususally we don't get alot of snow cause we're so far out into the Atlantic that the Ocean water helps moderate te3mperatures and the currents steer storms closer to Manhattan to the west.

Buckle up your overcoat and get out your goulashes. Be sure to drive safely.

Jingle Them Bells Baby!

It might help spur Christmas spirit.... I LOVE the snow.

Aghhh...thankfully I moved my car out of the way of the crazy snow plowers....now I can just sit back read some Nabokov, drink my coffee, and watch the snow fall on the ever lovely Triborogh Bridge...

9. I love the Holiday season..
so, this makes me feel good, since I don't have to do a lot of travelling. The carol "Let It Snow" has a good point. Later in the winter, I don't like snow as much - especially if I've seen a significant amount.

12. I am in an office building in Manhattan
Cannot see the buildings across the street because of all the snow!! Total whiteout! I think it's pretty cool, luckily I only live a few blocks away so I don't have to worry about getting stranded.

Laaaaaaaaaazy weekend - can't wait!!

14. Cool picture!
Worse than the snow banks though, are the virtual moats surronding every city block. Ever walk home in freezing weather with soaking wet feet??

17. Oh, God, we get such moats up here!
And in midtown.

That's the only part of winter in NYC I don't like - the damn moats, when the snow is melting but there's so much of unmelted snow that it's blocking all the sewer entries.

I've come home with some awfully wet feet. And sometimes have had to walk a block or two out of my way, just to find an intersection I didn't need hip boots to get through. Often end up crossing in the middle of the street, where there's still enough snow that' it's above the water, so I can climb over.
