Favorite "Character actors/actresses"
Such performances by David Strathairn and Philip Seymour Hoffman, who took on lead roles, but normally play the supporting roles stand out to me.

William H. Macy is a great one that comes to mind, too.

How about you folks? Who are your favorites?

7. And in Resevoir Dogs, Ghost World, The Laramie project, Big Fish...
So many great roles by this great actor.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000114/

He was also great in "Homicide, Life on the Streets", as the racist cop-shooter. He should have won an Emmy for that role.

14. didnt JT Walsh play John Ehrlichman in Nixon?
I never saw him in anything but Nixon but I thought that was a great role. Agree about Buscemi that said, he's weird looking but talented, I finally saw Fargo recently and loved it, and was even speaking Minnesotian by the end dontcha know.

It had to be his impressive performance as Sgt. Hulka in "Stripes" that did it.
