Why do I always feel like I need a nap after lunch?
I had a slice of cheese pizza and a very small salad for lunch (I had ice water to drink).

What is making me so sleepy?

4. Too many carbs
I used to get very sleepy after lunches, until i realized it was the carbs, so I started experimenting, and if I went lunch without carbs, just had a nice big salad or something non-carbish, no tiredness/sleepiness at all.

5. It has to do with circadian rhythms
and the fluctuation of things like core body temperature. For a day shift worker there's a dip in core body temp in the afternoon.

9. because
yout body only has so much blood in it, and after you eat, more blood goes to your digestive system to help you digest, therefore, less blood going to your brain. That means your get tired.

10. Is it taking a lot of energy for your system to digest cheese pizza?
Edited on Wed Mar-29-06 03:34 PM by Boojatta
Do cats eat pizza? If they do, then that explains why they take so many catnaps. Would you be willing to eat a lunch of carrots, celery, other vegetables, and maybe some bean dip? (That's a lunch that a cat wouldn't eat.)

Re salad: is there oil in the dressing?
