Police Taser Teen Accused Of Pouring Urine On Student

CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Cape Coral police say an officer used a Taser while trying to arrest a high school student who allegedly poured a bottle of urine on another student.

Authorities say 16-year-old Luke Arnold was on a bus earlier this month when he dumped the bottle of urine on another student who was walking home.

After an investigation, police say they went to arrest the Ida Baker High School student Monday.

Reports say Arnold wasn't cooperating and after several warnings, an officer stunned him with a Taser.

Arnold is charged with battery-touch or strike and resisting an officer with violence.

Authorities say Arnold is in good health. He's at a juvenile center in Fort Myers.

I agree with you, what this kid did was disgusting and he should be punished. But given how many people have been killed with tasers these days, I'm really against the police using them. Besides, how hard is it for a couple of cops to subdue a sixteen year old?

It is easy to be a sideline judge if you have never physically controlled a person who is non-compliant.

No, it isn't an easy thing to do, especially one on one. But I would rather do that than risk killing a kid over what is admittedly a pretty damn digusting little prank. Sure, the kid needs to get his ass straightened out, but he doesn't need to get it fried.

They are advertised as "safe" and that makes cops use them far too often. It is taser them first, worry about consequences later. But too often the consequences is death. Death without even a trial. Sounds Gitmo-ish to me.
