2. congrats!
you've made it this far, you can do it. I quit cold turkey March 5th. After the first few days, it gets much easier. You'll still have cravings, but remember, cravings pass after 30 seconds.

5. awesome....you can do it!!!
i quit 15 months ago after 18 years of smoking.

feel cranky? drink some orange juice. chew some gum or chew on a straw. but live with it. remember it. and never take another puff. this time will pass so much faster than you think and it won't be long until the smell of cigarette smoke makes you want to hurl!

THE BEST OF LUCK!!!

15. Well that's good.
I need to quit too. I quit for a year and a half from 19 1/2 until I turned 21. But at that time, I didn't really smoke a lot.

16. you'll know when it's time
I picked up the habit around 8 yrs ago. It was the summer between 6th and 7th grade, and all the "Jr high people were doing it" according to my (not-so) wise friend.
Even if you weren't really smoking a lot, you still quit once and you could do it again if you wanted to. You'll know when. :D

I don't know if I want to right now. I know that sounds bad but I kind of enjoy it.

26. I had my worst bitchiness
a couple of nights ago. It lasted about an hour, then was gone. :) I am not having any more craving, just the occasional flash of a cigarette image in my mind. (If that makes sense)

:hi:

Good luck. Treat yourself a little over the coming days and weeks (no tobacco, just other stuff you enjoy). It'll make life easier.

19. Kick. Ass.
Gizmo - I would recommend talking to your Doctor tomorrow if you haven't already. Are you going cold turkey? I did last summer and had some negative side effects. Cranky, just plain angry and depressed. My Doc told me that after smoking for so many years that I was experiencing a chemical imbalance that is totally normal in people who stop smoking. Or more accurately, a withdrawal from all the chemicals in cigarettes.

I tried quitting again on Feb. 1st and have been smoke free ever since. I'm taking Wellbutrin (lowest dose) and it has been instrumental in helping me quit.

Anyway, whatever method you choose, just remember that you'll need lost of exercise, water, deep breathing. Stay strong. You can do it!
