good god! the mormons were at my door!!

i told them i believe in what jesus said but i gave up on organized religion, i`m not sure if he understood but his handler made sure he gave the speech.i did get a card with a phone number for a free video so i guess it did pay to stay home from work.

You should have told them you would only take their info if you could also give them a copy of the Watchtower.

If you talk with them out of respect, then ask yourself if they are repecting you and your beliefs/non-beliefs.
I dont let them have the first word. Unless I feel like making their heads explore, then I fuck with them.

some came to my door, I tried to be pleasant and let them finish what they were saying even though I'm already set in my religious beliefs.

The one woman told me that she reads her pamphlets of scripture in the bathtub..I don't know if that was some kind of humanizing marketing tactic..if so, I thought it was clever. If nothing else, she got me to laugh a little.

I don't want to be rude, but I also don't want them to take up my time. I usually say "Sorry, I'm not interested. Don't come here again." You have to be firm and clear with some of the more aggressive missionaries.

...less than fully clothed when she knows it's them. Too funny as she is "recovering" Mormon. (She's 32 and was born and raised in it until age 18.)

The thing is we think that my die-hard Mormon grandfather gave them our new address (even though we live in the next state) and we're afraid it might get back to him. Kinda puts a damper on an otherwise hilarious idea, especially if there is a hidden camera to get their facial expressions. ;-)

But those fundie Southern Baptists, who go door to door about once a month in my neighborhood. Usually they will bypass my house when they see my Rottweiler standing at the window. But, for the ones brave enough to knock, I just tell them, sorry, but I'm an atheist.

14. The mormons always send such cute young men around

They ride their bikes around Detroit. They really are nice guys, and I was never offended by their pitch. I just tell them thanks for caring enough to stop, but I have my own church that I am involved with.

Same goes with Jehovah's Witnesses, although I'm less likely to open the door to them because all their representatives are not nice looking young men.
