1. Not much happening in Elkins, WV
We've had some flurries and are supposed to get 5" - 10" of snow. I did bring in some kindling and some wood and went out and bought a snow shovel.

14. It's beautiful today
with about 5" of snow and all the tree limbs are outlined in white. Since I don't have to go anyplace today, I'm enjoying it and the dogs are loving it.

For much of the winter here you must have 4WD or chains to go north, east or south. Going west is not so bad. Elkins is surrounded by mountains and it is lovely most of the year. My car won't move today, I'll probably take a walk later.

Long Island is supposed to get about 7 inches total. It's really thick snow too with GIGANTIC flakes about the size of a silver dollar.

8. Snowing like a Mofo.
If this is the light storm, I can't imagine what's coming tomorrow. We have a good 4" on LI. They are predicting 6 for the whole storm through Sunday morning. Yeah right.

10. Snowin' in the 'Burgh...
...but I doubt we are going to get what they say we are going to get. I think the weatherpersons are having snowgasms.

On a lighter note, this morning I told my oldest son if it snows enough, he won't have school tomorrow. He jumped up and down cheering for about three seconds, then "...hey! Tomorrow's SATURDAY!"

It was pretty funny.

Enjoy the snow folks!

Later,
JM

13. Philly, PA -- Storm Waxing and Waning
It didn't snow very much during the night, but in the last half-hour, it started snowing heavily again. (it's about 6:30 AM here)

The radars are showing that the storm is re-intensifying. It looks like the trailing edge of the storm is around the MD/VA border, but the storm is spinning, so it's not moving northward too fast. Looks like at least another 4 hours of snow for Philly, more if it intensifies to the south.

The ocean is very warm so it's possible.

I'm enjoying it. It's beautiful. My only regret is that my snow boots are packed away so I can't go out and walk around in it.
