Anybody have any experience(s) with Celexa?

Anti-depressant drug. I learned a relative of mine has been diagnosed as severely depressed and the doctor is recommending she take this medication.

Any information would be helpful! Thanks! :hi:

1. Without dispensing any medical advice.

(Cause this will get locked if that's what you're asking for) I used it for anxiety about 4 years ago. After I was diagnosed with Diabetes, I went through a period where I thought I was going to die and everything was falling apart. THe doctor prescribed Celexa. It sucked. It helped my anxiety a little bit, but it also made me not really care about anything. That was not the type of mindset I needed during lawschool, so I took myself off of it. I started taking Xanax, as needed, and it worked MUCH better. I haven't used ANYTHING for about 2 years.

3. Saved my life...

literally.

I was in a severe depression and Celexa (with therapy) got me back on track. I have been using it for 2+ years now with little to no side effects. I still have the yawning problem, put on a few pounds, but otherwise it has been a godsend.

Having been on anti-dep meds before, I can tell you that it may take a few different meds to find the right one and a few different dosages to get it right. Patience and persistence is important.
