Computer help needed
Well I have a collection of oddness going on with my home PC. I have an HP Pavilion with Windows ME(yes pity me). Since yesterday it has been doing some really odd things. It has been very sluggish. I have not been able to open any image files; what happens is that it just seems to slow down so much that it is almost frozen, but I can still move the pointer and open some files and when it eventually brings up the image screen it says file not found. I cannot open my control panel, it just freezes completely. And now when I try to shut down, it will give me a system busy box and I will have to click end task to get it to shut down. The odd part of that box is that the top of it say "Notification WND for RNAdmin: which I don't remember seeing before.

I have run my antivirus, but it is old and stupid and found nothing.I did a system restore to 2 weeks ago and that did not improve things. I have run the maintenance wizard which did not do any better as well. I ran Adaware and got rid of the spyware but that also had no impact.

What the hell is going on? I don't have money to have a professional check this out so if someone can help, please do. This is weird and frustrating!

Go to add remove programs and remove real one player. That should be what is causing it.

but I cant access my control panel to get to remove programs as it just freezes up when I click there. Can I remove it without opening the control panel from the start menu?

Restart your computer and as it is opening up, press the f8 key. That will open it in safe mode. You should be able to remove it then. ps: the screen will look weird.
