Celebrate 01:02:03, 04/05/06?
Think about this if you have nothing better to do right now!!!!

On Wednesday of next week, at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00
in the morning, the time and date will be 01:02:03 04/05/06.

You may now return to your (normal ?) life.
;-)

2. LOL! I just got this bit of trivia sent to me via email. Guess it's makin'
the rounds.....I'd even thought of starting a thread about it, too, but you beat me to the punch, trof! :)

But, correct me if I'm wrong: won't this most auspicious occasion happen TWICE that day...as in, also in the AFTERNOON?

Am I missing something?

In any case, I love noticing these kinds of things. Very cool.

7. My Sunday email said it would never happen again, but --
Edited on Sun Apr-02-06 07:59 PM by Radio_Lady
doesn't it happen every hundred years? (And it does seem that on the 12 hour clock, it would happen twice that day -- but not on the 24 hour clock).

So, 1:02:03 -- April 5, 1906 (anybody have relatives turning 100 on that day?)

Then, the same on April 5, 2006 AM or PM (YIPPEE -- but I'll be sleeping in the AM)

Then, again on April 5, 2106, etc. (Life Extension promises people will easily live 100 years in the future.)

My Dad (now deceased) was born on November 11, 1911 -- I always thought that was a neat birthday, and it was also celebrated as Veteran's Day for a large part of my youth.

Then, there are the following twelve memorable birthdays at the beginning of each century:

01/01/01
02/02/02
03/03/03
04/04/04 etc.

Anybody have young kids with these birthdays?

In peace,

Radio_Lady

10. How about lunch, Shine, somewhere along the central coast of California?
Edited on Sun Apr-02-06 07:55 PM by Radio_Lady
-- we could talk about current events, or go bicycling, check out the movies, read -- or sing! I love singing (all the people who crowd in my shower agree I'm pretty good!).

Sounds like fun!

In peace,

Radio_Lady

13. Wish we could -- take a raincheck? But let's not wait until ---
01:02:03 -- April 5, 2106!

Where are you on the "central coast"? I'd love to drive that scenic area. Looks as if it comprises these places:

Santa Maria
Pismo Beach
San Luis Obispo
Morro Bay

PS. What DO you like to sing? I try everything from nursery rhymes to opera! Thinking of joining the Unitarian church choir, the Choristers, but they practice on Thursdays, which conflicts with my movie reviewing...

17. I'm in the Santa Cruz mountains, so "raincheck" is really the right, or
shall I say, in this case, WRONG word to use. heheheh. ;) Seriously, we've had an abundance of rain here the last 27 out of 30 days. Record-breaking rains. It's getting ridiculous. I'm sooooo ready for some consistent SUN, for a change...Ugh.

Coincidentally enough, I just joined a 60-member non-denominational community choir last Fall that has weekly rehearsals on Thursdays, your movie review nite. :) I sing First Alto. My hubby, a Bass, has sung in the choir for years and has been trying to convince me to join all that time. I had resisted, due mostly to childcare issues. But the kids are a bit older now (9 and 12), so I decided to go for it. I auditioned and got in. I've had a LOT of fun with it, so far. It's great to expand my community even further and have a creative outlet for expression. We sing VERY cool and uplifting stuff, in many different languages, check out this link for more info: http://www.pacificvoices.org/about_us.html

Let me know if you're ever in my neck o' the woods, OK? :hi:  :pals:

22. I listened to a bunch of the songs. Loved it!
Thanks, Shine. YOU shine!

BTW, I'd probably be an alto also. Love to sing counterpoint (or whatever they call it) in songs I know.

4. Cool...
We were just talking about a 06/06/06 party last night. And then I realized that there would be an 11:11:11 11/11/11 in November of 2011.

But here this was staring us in the face just a couple of days away....

9. Triple sixes, twice, huh? Still "the sign of the devil" --
Edited on Sun Apr-02-06 08:11 PM by Radio_Lady
This is interesting!

I have three sixes right next to each other in my Social Security number. People have suggested I change it. But I won't.

It's bad luck to be superstitious!

12. IF you do it that way...
Edited on Sun Apr-02-06 10:38 PM by Hissyspit
Because a more numerically ordered logic sequence would actually go...

03:02:01:05:04:06

Second : Minute : Hour : Day : Month : Year

So if we wait until May it will make more numerical sequence sense.

The first second after two minutes into the third hour (3 a.m.) on the 4th of May, 2006

Hours are arbitrary cultural inventions, anyway, relative to Days, Months and Years. Days, Month and Years are non-cultural observable physical phenomenon. Hours are not, and these time divisions are not equivalent in that sense.

in August, that might have foretold about 9/11?

Oh, that one WASN'T READ either while B* was partying? :sarcasm:

20. Do all European nations all follow this date convention?
Day/Month/Year

I've run into this before in the United Kingdom -- but they drive on the "wrong" side of the road, too.

Never learned that metric system, either. How many liters in a gallon?

What about the centigrade scale -- how hot IS it when it's 20 degrees C.!

Oh, my. We off to London and Scotland in May. Guess that will help with the learning. But I'm not driving there. Forget it!

In peace,

Radio_Lady
