Good Monday Morning, Crew!

:donut::hi:
Welcome to the Monday edition of the Early Morning Crew thread! :bounce: As we start another work week, there are several things happening in the next few days...Tomorrow is the release date of "Brokeback Mountain" on DVD! :woohoo: If you haven't had a chance to see it yet, tomorrow is your chance! I start an 11 day vacation on Friday! :woohoo: I certainly can't wait for THAT, let me just tell ya! I still haven't decided if I'm going to go back to Missouri to visit my parents, but I'm leaning towards yes! It's been a year since I've seen them and I really should go! I just need to find a hotel room, and I'm set!

So are you ready to start another work week? I had to work the weekend and don't have another day off this week until Friday when my vacation starts, so I feel like I've already started mine. Let's get this day going right! :bounce:

Hope you had a good weekend.

We had rain and overcast, so we stayed mostly indoors. Very typical of this time of year. Took our daughter to see Ice Age 2. She loved the squirrel and acorn scenes.

thank you. It was my first try with carrot cake and it came out fantastic. Soft and the moisture was perfect.

Yes my romantic life seems to move in the right direction. He is a sweet heart. Very considerate. Even at times when I don't mind him not to be too considerate. I.E. he didn't call me last night because it was too late. Hey, I even take the phone next me in bed so I can answer right away when he calls.

100. He DOES sound like
a sweet guy. Be careful with the phone though. I once took my cell to bed with me, put it under my pillow because my b/f was going to call. I fell asleep and when the phone rang, it scared the bejebus out of me. My b/f called only to leave a msg because it was late. He was surprised that I answered. We actually had a conversation, but for the life of my I don't know what I said. Needless to say, my phone gets turned off when I go to bed.

My cell phone is always on
Edited on Mon Apr-03-06 06:46 AM by MissHoneychurch
have it next to my bed on my book shelf. And the home phone (cordless) is near me these days as well. Normally I leave it in the living room in the charging station but he called me before late at night and then I have to scramble out of bed and walk to the living room (which is the next room since I only have two rooms) and try not to stumble over things.

I just called him on his cell ... He didn't expect that since we are emailing :)

However, Monday IS Opening Day for the Seattle Mariners, and I will BE THERE, so I'm mighty excited about that.

Want to share a post I did earlier today. Just sharing a little springtime with my DU friends.

I hope he can make it through the game tomorrow. He's really looking forward it it. I think it will raise his spirits quite a bit.

84. Morning Clint!
Eleven days off in a row - I just can't imagine! With that much time off I wouldn't care what I did or where I went!

Had all sorts of domestic plans for the weekend but pretty much failed at most of them. Oh well . . . there's always next weekend!

And now it's back to business as usual.

96. Seems like you're
torn between visiting your parents and doing stuff around home. Maybe a compromise is in order. Maybe just use some of your vacation for family visits and the rest do something just for yourself. Just a suggestion.

Good to hear that others procrastinate about domestic chores. It's really too hard to do anything of value (chore wise) during the week.

114. Good Morning Clint!

I am still in NC. I booked the room for one week so I'll be here through Thursday morning. :)
I dropped off some film at a local CVS that's 11 miles down the road yesterday. The person running the 1 hour developing center suggested also getting disc of the film I was having processed. I may be able to load the pictures into my computer without scanning them at home first. :) THAT would be so cool! It would give me an acceptable project for my evenings in the room. It will be great this summer while I'm traveling.

Good Luck on finding a great place near your folks if you travel to see them this year.

105. I did enjoy talking with you!

Years ago I realized that I really do need to read lips so phone calls have become very challenging.

The next time you call I'll turn everything off and close the windows making this room more like a sound chamber. If the cell signals are coming in strong enough then calling on my cell phone might help because I can put the call on speaker phone.

116. Friends can always find ways to overcome obstacles.
Miss Sugar and I truly laughed out loud together. We became very fond of one little table in the back of the restaurant because we were far enough away from everyone to just be ourselves without worrying about what might amuse or shock tender ears.
 Just politics - ya know. ;)

On Saturday we played with my camera and the photo-op props I brought along for the trip. (we had fun in-between Miss Sugar's naps) Of course I took a few pictures of her sleeping. :)

I've got great lighting so I'm going to try some mirror shots of myself because I am so impressed with what other DUers have accomplished by that method. I found out yesterday that I may be able to load snapshots directly into my computer through the DVD drive bypassing my scanner at home. That would be so totally incredibly cool!

I'm calling some of the area hotels this morning and will follow up with PM to you. We will stroll through the lobby of the Hotel Jefferson (5 stars!) and maybe we ought to have an apple martini there to kick things off!

The restaurant I have in mind is unique to Richmond with excellent wide-ranging variety of Italian food. Richmond has had an explosion of good and interesting restaurants. I ain't taking you to no Olive Garden while you're here!

106. Yeah, that's a long drive.
Takes us 14-15 hours to get to TN. Our daughter used to make the trip by herself, which always made me worry. I asked her not to call and tell me when she was starting out. Once we bought her a plane ticket, but she said that was worse -- got stuck in Atlanta for hours while the airlines decided whether they wanted to fly to TRI. Sh was the only one on the plane once. Then they lost her luggage. She prefers to drive. She's like her father. I HATE driving.

Sophie has a very sad, loud meow. That's why everyone leaves it up to her to wake me up. It's too easy to ignore the others. How is that handsome Tony?

But Greekspeak can't go this time, so I would be by myself. x( I get to see the whole of Alabama, going through Montgomery and Birmingham, part of Tennessee (Memphis), Arkansas, Mississippi (Tupelo), before I get into Missouri, then I have to drive all the way from the eastern side to the western side since Springfield is in the Southwest corner of the state.

Harleydad is going up to TN after Easter. It's actually harder on me than it is on him. I swear, he could have been a truck driver. He's still like a teenager who just got his license. Both of the girls are like him. I'd rather sit in the back of the car with the DVD player, my pillow and blanket, snacks, game player ... you name it to distract me. :D

Well, even if you don't go, I hope you have a great vacation. You can always come down and wash cars with us. :bounce:
