Would you want to be a Borg?
A Borg is part of a gestalt community. All do the same thing, share everything, do everything for the same purposes. When one dies, it is irrelevant as others take over. It is survival as a whole, not of the individual.

On the plus side, one need never worry about homelessness, hunger, pain, suffering, lack of friendship... death?

3. Being a small part of a hive-mind isn't attractive to me.
That's why I'm not a republican.

4. Von Borg...
“Surely ‘dog’ must represent God backwards, and bone must represent the male
reproductive organ. Of ‘some kind’ leads to a sense of urgency, as if it is so
important that you must do it no matter which way it is accomplished. Thus it
is as though saying: “Fuck God anyway you can” which can either be a lightweight
atheist statement or a note of sexual desire for the divine. Wanting to
have that amazing glow of divinity slurping on your dick, sucking harder as
you ejaculate.” Thus say My Dearest Rev. Zoot-Zoog.

If /while as well…

Thus it is as well instead so...that when, even as a young man I’d ‘owned’ a

Jaguar XK-E.
Well & round Mormons & friends with whom I worked, not to mention Mormon family members;

For ever pointing just there as if I could impugn:

Freud’s: Cigar.

While it is though as well ‘Thus & So’ that I have not designed this
world nor it's things so in need to pollinate still other things yet again.
~~~x(~:{ HENCE }:~:-)~~~
...The supreme dada of a: Borg Cube. My Slippery French Bag Whore Of A Slut...Chaos,
she will still from time to time inquire as to her proximity...and/or my: access to a three-fingered
dollop of petroleum jelly in spite of her elegant, curvaceous mysteries splayed with want & waiting before the
the pre-ejaculate tip of a cum dripping Jaguar XK-E. Though I hear as well...our former President
Clinton has done he & myself wonders while defining then ashes anew for both Sigmund & his cigar.
Here's hoping you are to find yourself all the way there...to the ‘hand job’.
‘Throwing the dog a bone’ may well in fact be said as such. Did you see the towers: come ashes,
ashes all fall down? The military-industrial-complex is in motion.
It is time for the world to suck a little buttermilk:
…THEREFORE...
Bend over while still nimble. And then kiss your ass good bye
5. Only if I can be the one whose job is to nail 7 of 9 every morning
Edited on Mon Apr-03-06 10:24 PM by Rabrrrrrr
I don't think she's epsecially hot or attractive, but she's attractive enough that if the offer came to be a Borg, and I could make that a condition, I might be tempted.
11. A Borg of Star Trek fame? Hell no...
Its not so much the hive mind aspect, I mean, as long as I have the capability of maintaining my individuality, then I wouldn't mind communicating with others, mind to mind, using radio waves and such. But who the hell would want to shuffle around like freakin zombies all day? Seriously, I think Star Trek missed out on a LOT of possibilities with the Borg that could have made them more exciting. Granted, they seem to be the "gothic" freaky aspect of Star Trek, but if the Borg really were a hive mind, where were the warriors to protect the drones?
If it were me, I would have had various different groups of Borg engineered for specific tasks, like an ant hive, but much more advanced in structure. Imagine warrior Borg that are mostly machine with possibly just the brain being the only truly organic part, being quadrapeds with sharp edges, best to rip apart opponents, and bristling with weapons? Or small fighter craft that are also mostly brains, engineered towards war, high powered and small in size?
Now, granted, there was SOME specialization, mostly with differences in craft, the Sphere, and before that that one fighter I think it was, with the rogue drones in charge. However, even though the Borg were on average much stronger than their natural species, they weren't faster, they could kick your ass if you actually decided to stay and fight, but run away and shoot a gun at them and they go down easily enough, First Contact showed us that. Actually, that's an interesting thing, the Borg adapt to holographic bullets being fired at them, replicate a couple of tommy guns and wail away with REAL bullets, and you still kick their ass.
OK, I'm a major Geek, please forgive me, but no way would I want to be like the Borg of Star Trek fame. Now, being a cybernetic organism of a more general variety, well, I could think of one arm that needs replacing, and I wouldn't mind augmenting my brain, making a little faster, like ten times what is real time. We already have implants for the body, and those for the brain are catching up, granted, right now, they are somewhat limited, and for people that NEED them rather than want them, but soon enough, probably within our lifetimes, we could possibly have "real" telepathy using radio transmitters and implants in the brain to foster communication, along artificial limbs and organs that are stronger and more reliable than their natural counterparts. Compared to Genetic Manipulation and theraputic cloning, they would probably be safer and more consistant in results, at least until we get better at Genetic Engineering.
