And I'm STILL working on my 13-page paper!!!
I got about half of it done last night, did some other projects for other classes today, now I have to finish the damn thing tonight, and add footnotes and headers in tomorrow morning. I've got 6 pages done, 2,383 words. It really SUCKS having to write this.:(

This BLOWS.

4. I quit college shortly after
I had to write a 15 page paper. I just couldn't cut it. It was really a culmination of several smaller things plus the 15 pager. I was a junior and thought that things weren't going to get any easier. I'm not college material anyway. I was born for the road.

Sorry, I'm not feeling too inspirational tonight.

Look at it this way. You can either write the 5000 word papers now and have a nice white collar job making 50k to start out after school or you can hit the factory and start at $8 an hour.

6. Unfortunately, I don't have the street smarts you have.
I'm sort of lacking in the "people skills" department. I need that white-collar job.

Besides, architects make at least $75,000 per year once they get licensed.:)

There you go, man! I want to see you making blueprints and not drawling, "10-4 on the smokie in the middle at the 184."

8. Actually, I've always admired truckers.
I can stay awake for long periods of time, too. I also love the open road, driving and travelling. The problem I would have is that I don't think I could drive an 18-wheeler very good.

10. Well, let's not find out.
It's actually a good job for a single, blue collar person. But trucking is more than a job. It's a lifestyle and it can be a pain in the ass sometimes.

11. You're probably right...
I wouldn't want to be a trucker here in ND, that's for sure. The flat landscape would induce highway hypnosis.

32. Droopy, college burned me out.
I studied really hard and really put a lot of effort into those 13- to 14-page term papers.

A combination of overwork, Depression, relationship issues and having my world view completely smashed to smithereens left me unable to do much. I couldn't cut the stress anymore.

So, SmileyBoy, don't sweat it too much, okay? I didn't take time to "stop and smell the roses" when I was in college. I used my classes as a shield against pain and when the classes ended, I suddenly realized I was SO fucked. My support system and social structure was gone. If yours isn't, make sure you party as much as you study, okay?

I wouldn't want you to have a burnout.

25. I HOPE it'll be only 12.
The criteria said a 10-13 page paper, but I estimated that I would be writing around 13 pages. Probably I might end up with 11 or 12.

In that case, I only *estimate* that I feel sorry for you . . .

Don't treat it like a bad thing. It's a chance to form an opinion and make your case. Give 'em hell!

...back when I was doing it, it was done on a typewriter. If I made a mistake, I had to pull out the correction liquid. The finished product always looked sloppy.
