Taking up Guitar...where to get lessons...
As I approach middle age I have decided to take up playing guitar. I played cello for many years when I was younger so I am not unfamiliar with reading music etc.

I'm looking for the best way to take beginning lessons. Best to just get a book and go through it myself, or try and find someone. I live in the DC area if anyone knows of a good teacher in the area.

Most of the employees will know of good instructors.

A smaller college might have a student studying music that would be willing to give lessons for a very inexpensive rate.

Yep, the guy in that Geico commercial. If you're not able to head down to a guitar store for lessons, Estaban sells a DVD course at Barnes & Noble and other bookstores. Might be worth a look.
