Jagger: China "protecting the morals of the expat bankers"

Chinese authorities have asked the Rolling Stones to cut five songs when they play in Shanghai - one more than when they were due to perform in 2003.

Lead singer Sir Mick Jagger said the band were not worried by the censorship and had fully expected it.

The Rolling Stones do not have such a devoted following in China as elsewhere in the world and it is widely expected the majority of the audience will be non-Chinese.

Sir Mick sarcastically said: "I'm pleased that the Ministry of Culture is protecting the morals of the expat bankers and their girlfriends that are going to be coming."

Unfortunately, I think the sarcasm will be lost on Chinese morals guardians. :evilgrin:
