And it isn't his first bird to kill. He has also killed a squirrel, a possum, and a poor wittle kitty cat!!! x(

1. He is acting on instinct.
Perhaps you, as the human in the relationship, should restrain him somehow if you don't wish him to kill.

4. But all of these animals were in my back yard. That is where
he does his business you know! He has to go to the bathroom! I don't know what I can do.

2. Yes.
Your dog has a demon.

Call a priest.

6. That is the thing! I was outside when he got the bird. I was

sitting in one of my chairs outside and the bird came down for some food. They are always in my backyard getting food. And before I even saw anything, he had the bird in his mouth!
Usually, they are too fast for him to catch, but he always chases them!

7. Well then,
If they're normally too fast and this one was not, perhaps it was injured? If you were right there, you did what you could.

Shy of training him not to chase them (which, depending on his breed is probably an excersise in futility) I don't think there's much you can do to prevent this behavior. I suppose you could bell him like a cat so the little critters get a head start.

9. This may sound mean, but I would like for a cat to fight back with
him. He thinks he is a KING and I would like for him to get a tast of his own medicine. But I was thinking that maybe the bird was injured b/c they are really fast. But still, it broke my heart.

13. I don't think that's mean
My son went through a phase where he'd bully other kids. How did I solve it? I took him to the park in the late afternoon when bigger kids were there. After getting shoved away a few times he got the idea and he doesn't pick on smaller kids anymore.

It's not mean, it's letting natural consequences provide instruction.

14. Yeah, it's not like I wish my dog any harm, but they do need to
learn that they aren't the biggest and baddest!

11. There is no evil. Your dog is just a reflection of
all other dogs, just as he is a reflection of society.

My dog's father is a jail cell. That's why I took all those puppies to my garbage dump and I fed 'em! That's why the music says "KILL!!" That's why it says "RISE!!" That's why it says "SIT!!" That's why it says "FETCH!!" I didn't write the music! Rin Tin Tin wrote the music! These doggies that come at you with bones! I'm not the law-breaker, I'm the law maker! Woof!!!
