New iPod trouble -- HELP!
Yesterday I upgraded from my mini to one of the new video models.

I already had the software on my computer.

The thing has charged all night, yet shows that it is not fully charged. It also says "Do not diconnect" -- seems to be frozen there.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this one a dud?

1. Mine did the exact same thing
The first time I plugged it in, it froze. I already had iTunes installed too, although I did run the install CD. But mine froze too. It works fine now. Just keep fiddling with it, unplug it, replug it, it'll eventually work fine. If not, take it back. But don't stress out too much because mine did the exact same thing and it works fine.

2. It's not a dud
I think that happened to mine too, but I don't remember what it was I did to make things right.

3. Open up iTunes and eject the iPod maybe?
Also, you might want to get the newest versions of the iPod updater and iTunes anyway, because there've been a few changes between the Mini and the Video.

4. Down in the lower right hand side of your screen
near the clock, the bar that has all the programs running. Glide over all those icons with your mouse, and see if one doesn't say "Safely remove hardware". See if that doesn't help.
