Now leading 4-0 on the Nationals, top of the 5th, in the Nationals home opener.

10. Okay, now the *other* important question
I've seen the lyrics to "Meet the Mets" and at one point I could even tell you the name of the Shea organist back in Those Days (Jane something...), but I've never heard it.

So, actually, the other important question is two questions:

1. Is the tune the same as or similar to "This Is It," i.e. the Bugs Bunny-Road Runner Show theme song?

2. Anybody know where there's an audio file of it?

I just thought of another one:

3. The Giants used to have "Bye Bye Baby." What happened to "official" ball club songs?

11. HOLY COW
Carlos Beltran just hit a MOON SHOT to make it 7-1 Mets in the top of the 9th.

The ball bounced off the 474-foot sign in right-center, about 50 feet up in the air.

That had to have been a 500-foot shot or close to it, one of the longest home runs I've seen in years.

Meet the Mets
Step right up and greet the Mets
Because the Mets are really missing the ball
Watch Swoboda run into the wall ....

Who remembers Ron Swoboda these days!

15. ah, the brilliant Willie Randolph strikes again
brings in Wagner with a 6-run lead. Wagner throws like 30 pitches, and probably can't go tomorrow.

God, I hate Randolph.
