1. It was a good movie.
And growing up in the area at that time, I remember those names.

2. Saw the movie a few months ago
Friend who recommended it told me the book is much more realistic.

I liked "Varsity Blues" better, but that's me.

This reminds me, too, of the worst film adaptation ever: "Semi-Tough." Hell of a book. Embarrassment of a movie.

3. The movie was good.
Read the book, too. The movie is faithful to the book, but of course the book covers more.

Some of the people who live in that area are still angry with the author of that book. I can't imagine how they feel about the movie.

4. I grew up in a town
just like that. Football is the be-all and end all. And I can get pretty engrossed in it myself... but it's pretty sad.

5. I really liked that movie.
I saw it on a flight home from Houston, so I was a captive audience. I wouldn't have watched it otherwise, but I enjoyed it very much.

6. Great movie
and a suprise ending, if you haven't read the book.

I grew up in a small town that was all about football, but we weren't good enough to have the kind of hero worship you got in the movie.

7. It is a good movie, but the absolute focus on football was
disturbing to me. I know that kind of focus is very real, and does happen, but much as I love football, it was kind of freakish.

8. I don't like football, but I liked the movie
I lived in Midland Texas for two years, so I know how true the story is.

10. Two completely different movies, in the way they were presented
Football was the God in both the movies, but Friday Night Lights was a lot colder than Remember the Titans, IMHO. I prefer Remember the Titans, presonally.
