Britney Spears Visited by Law Officers

By Associated Press

April 12 2006, 10:05 AM CDT

MALIBU, Calif. -- Child welfare officials and a sheriff's deputy visited Britney Spears' home because her infant son was accidentally dropped from a high chair, according to published reports.

Six-month-old Sean Preston fell April 1 as his nanny was lifting him from the high chair and something in the chair snapped, Star magazine reported Tuesday. The infant slipped from her arms and fell, bruising his head on the floor, the magazine said.

People magazine and the Los Angeles Times also reported the incident on Wednesday.

Though a doctor examined the baby at the house, Spears and husband Kevin Federline took the baby to the emergency room to have him examined six days later, People said......cont'd

1. Hmmm....where were the cops when Micheal Jackson was....
dangling babies over balconies? When my kids were little you couldn't keep bruises off of them. We got rid of our coffee table as that was their favorite target. Never had another since.

2. It was more than bruising
The baby had a minor skull fracture and a blood clot.

I'm glad the baby is okay, but after that driving without him in a car seat incident one would have to wonder.

7. Poor thing :(
Wouldn't you think the doctor who made the initial housecall would have recommended a hospital visit to be on the safe side ? Do head trauma injuries cause symptoms to show up after 6 days? Unless it happened again?

My kids had their share of goose eggs on their noggins and the rule of thumb at that time was to watch for vomiting and wake them every 20 minutes in the first 24 hours.

8. I'm not sure
I thought the sleepiness would be a sign of a concussion, but why wait that long.

The report I heard on the radio this morning said the parents were out of town and the nanny didn't tell them immediately, but that doesn't make sense if a doctor was at the house.

Either way, that poor kid needs a host of guardian angels.

5. Gloria Allred tried to get CPS to investigate
(Allred was Amber Frey's attorney at the time)

But he had a slicker lawyer "since he didn't drop the baby" MJ's public apology was sufficient.

10. Allred filed the complaint in California
His state of residence at the time. I believe it was more to get a file started on him, it must've worked, since I haven't heard anymore weird stuff happening to his kids since. However, there is still those pesky child molestation charges...:(

Can't she afford decent baby care?

This is the kind of thing that makes me PRAY she isn't pregnant again right now.
