Update on the Eurasian Eagle Owl:
I posted these pictures some way back:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=4919336

He (yes, it's a male) is equipped with a radio sender and was released into freedom again just a few minutes ago. He made the sky his limit. :)

1. handsome fellow
no doubt glad to be free. thanks for the update.nothing to interesting here. the sandhill cranes are hanging out on the golf course greens, around the malls, even saw a couple the other day in front of the vet's door. not sure what that was about. goofy birds.

2. Sandhill cranes are beautiful birds.
It's quite rare I see a crane here.

3. Thanks for the update!
Last night I dreamed the swifts were back, but alas, it was only a dream.

4. Haven't seen them here yet.
But usually we have quite a few of them, and a sick one last year. He was okay and let free. Beautiful birds - but helpless on an even ground.

5. A fitting end to his recovery.
May he fly free for many years to come. Will his radio eventually fall off or is it an implant?

6. No implant.
Just attached to the ring on his leg. I'll have to ask for the website to track him.

Yes, might he fly for many years to come. Thank you!
