Newsflash: It is STILL raining!!
Edited on Wed Apr-12-06 04:51 PM by Shine
I guess sweet Oeditpus Rex started a thread, all worried about me, since we're in the Santa Cruz mountains.

I'm happy to say we're fine. Didn't have to evacuate in my town, but they almost had to in Felton, which is about 3 miles from me. The river came within ONE INCH of mandating a total evacuation.

Meanwhile, it's STILL raining very steadily. We probably got about 3 inches yesterday and the ground has been at total saturation point for a long time.. :banghead: ...AND I'm stuck at home with the kids for a week of Spring Break. Great. :eyes:

Help, I'm going CRAZY!!!!!!!

24. Do you ever go into Paso Robles to the wineries?
Very fun although not sure how much fun it would be in the rain.

Yes, we did Hearst Castle. Have you ever seen Nitt Witt Ridge?

3. I so wish you could send some of that rain here!
We are in a severe drought with no end in sight.
Just unbelieveable how one area can get so much rain and another gets nothing at all.

7. Yeah, it's weird.
btw, azmouse, did you happen to see Jack Bauer, aka Kiefer Southerland, on the cover of the lastest issue of Rolling Stone mag?

I read the interview, that guy seems nice, but a bit messed up in his head....

:hi:

11. Nobody's as tough as Jack! LOL
I didn't see Rolling Stone but I read a brief article somewhere about Kiefer using a lot of drugs after Julia Roberts left him. He should consider himself lucky that she spared him.

13. Well, from the article, he's got quite the drinking problem, too.
not to mention an inability to maintain a long-term relationship.

I still think he's a cutie, though. Easy on the eyes....

4. *sigh*
And we can't get any rain. Sure you can't box up just a little for my gardens here?

Aww, I feel for you Shine, and your kiddos having to spend Spring Break indoors - cabin fever is no fun. :(

I'll be thinking sunshiny thoughts for you guys out there!

9. I don't really.
:D

Luckily, they're a bit older and can mostly occupy themselves. Right now, my dtr has her next door neighbor best friend over for a playdate. She's been here all day. heheheh.

That helps.

14. Is it ever!
Yesterday, I heard the Emergency Broadcast System saying that it was NOT a test - only the second time in my life I've heard that (first time was in Alabama when a hurricane was roaring in). They were warning about flash floods - this is just crazy!!!

I keep expecting to wake up in the morning to find my house sitting in the road below us with cars lined up honking horns for it to get out of the way! Seriously, though we are on a hillside and there have been some minor slides below us, I don't think the place is going anywhere. But it does make you stop and think.

I'm glad you're okay (though crazy!). It's got to stop sometime, doesn't it?!
