So I went to the Orthodontist today...
$4328 and a year.

1. Orthodontia is such a racket
and insurance does not cover near enough of it.

5. I agree
my teeth were straight, but the orthodontist said I had a very small jaw, and my wisdom teeth would be impacted as they grew in, so he took a couple of teeth out and put braces on me to create 'space' for them.

From grades 7-9 I had braces, and 7 or 8 years later...had to have my 4 wisdom teeth out anyway. :eyes: I've known quite a few others who've had the same experience.

At least I got lots of free rubber bands to ping at my classmates...:shrug:

6. I'm lucky. I never had wisdom teeth...
although I'm pretty sure I'll never acquire wisdom because of it. :shrug: It's almost an even trade. :D

7. One of my teeth is completely facing the wrong way.
It should be on the edge of my jawline but actually is at a right angle to my jawline.

And my bottem teeth cut my lower lip when I smile too much and as a frequent volunteer I smile a lot.

4. well my orthodontist said that I only have one really tough tooth
to get moved so if it takes more then a year it will be because canines hate moving.

8. i had to have a retainer before braces, and 3 teeth pulled.
now i still have the braces on, but i am supposed to get them off within the next few monthes.
