I need young drinkers to help me out!!
HI all. I'm trying to solve a puzzle, kind of an internet scavenger hunt, and one question has me totally stumped. Maybe it will ring a bell with some of the younger DU'ers?

I'm looking for the name of a spirit. The company was founded in the 1870's across the Atlantic. The spirit was introduced in the 1930's and is still being served around the world. My latest clue is that it is a modern-day college drinking fad. Any ideas??

Eternally grateful, Mama

4. Thanks!
Thank you!! I've even had Jagermeister in my younger days, but didn't find a link with the dates. This answer gets me one digit of a coordinate for geocaching. It's a challenging research kind of puzzle and this one has been bothering us for about 3 months! Thanks again!

5. My pleasure
I know it's not absynthe because that's illegal in the US and Canada. My original guess was Jager because it's from Europe and my friend and I just had a bottle last week in his dorm.

6. Correction...
Absynthe is illegal to *make* in the US; you can import it and drink it or sell it.
