16. Einstein believed that god "was not only more than we imagine, but
more than we CAN imagine."

So I'm thinking you haven't asked us a yes-or-no question.

17. Sorry, that's not an Einstein quote...
However, Arthur Stanley Eddington and J.B.S Haldane said something very similar...about the Universe (not God).

20. The correct quote I think is
"the universe is not only stranger than we imagine, it is stranger than we can imagine,"

but I had forgotten who said it.

23. Yep, that's the Arthur Stanley Eddington version
Haldane's is "The Universe is not only queerer than we suppose, but queerer than we can suppose."

26. 'Am familiar with the imagine / stranger than quotation but used as
a source this, sent to me originally from Berlin:

"I don't try to imagine a God; it suffices to stand in awe of the structure of the world, insofar as it allows our inadequate senses to appreciate it."

A. Einstein, Letter to S. Flesch, April 16, 1954

__

My response to the OP was an attempt to say that the question was not a yes-or-no question, that not even Einstein, who was no dumb-bell after all, felt that the 'answer' "existed," at least not in the temporal or clinical sense, but lay instead in a farther realm without polarities.

He was, in fact, an atheist, as he himself stated on more than one occasion.

44. You're right. He was very distrustful of the "Jesus is my PERSONAL
savior" meme.

He felt that was not an advancement in the arena of ideas.

29. He's on annual leave, but I'm covering for him.

No miracles can be performed in his absence, I'm afraid.

Please choose one of the following options:

If you want to fawn and supplicate yourself before his Omnipotence, press 1.
If you'd like to discuss your karma account, press 2.
If you wish to discuss a reincarnation issue, press 3. Please note that there are currently no further vacancies among the feline family for people who lack imagination.
If you're a damned soul who thinks they have been unjustly imprisoned in hell you can appeal, please use Form 23734B.

Now, if you'd asked if there was objective EVIDENCE for god, then no.

(Unless people can point me to it. Good luck, no one's ever come up with any to my knowledge.)
