Pink drives me freaking nuts!
Pinks latest single "Trouble" is bothering me deep down into my core. I heard the song at Target and had it stuck in my head for 3 days now its on SNL and its stuck again.... I could blow my brains out. I hate everthing else she does.

WHAT IS ONE TO DO? GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD. The real thing that bothers me is that the chorus sounds so familiar to something I've heard before.

"Pink has complained about the Bush administration."

It won't get the song out of your head, but it might make it easier to live with.

;-)

6. I agree...
she's horrible. Her songs suck. Her singing sucks. But...she did criticize the Dubya admin. I forgive her for the lack of talent for that.

7. My friend tells me she can sing...
But then I think of Chris Cornell or Mariah Carey (don't like her music, but she can sing) ... and a crapload of other people when I'm sober.

The downside to the corporate Iwo Jima music celebrity system is that every so often they produce a song that haunts my head to hell. I can say with certainty I'd never by her album. Never. I'd rather get my 15$ stolen.

13. Pink is more than one letter separate from Punk
She has nothing to do with it--she is mainstream bilge.

25. I totally understand punk-spitting. But she's mainstream...
So, is she marking her "turf," or just have bad post-nasal drip?

12. She STOLE a riff from Spirit's "Fresh Garbage" for one song
I can't remember which--maybe it's the song you mean. Anyway, she's a hack, simple as that.

15. Oohhh she's SO TOUGH....
:eyes:

I've not heard the song, but she gets on my nerves bigtime.

Talking loud saying nothing. That's Pink and her "tough" self.

16. I like her a LOT. She's tough, got stones, but really has a great voice,
very capable, and she can even sing incredibly sweet and melodic.

She has a great range and a lot of flexibility, and doesn't mess it all up with all that trilling ten million notes a minute crap the r & b chick singers are doing.

She is coming into her own as a performer, and I honestly expect really great things from her. I think her music has a lot of honesty and integrity.

18. I have no beef with her musical ability....
I agree that she has a great voice and a great style. I totally agree with you there--I *hate* overactive trilling and vocal nonsense that some singers do.

But her attitude turns me off in the biggest way, LOL. People who go around proclaiming how big and bad they are, swearing and being all "tough" and 'out there'...that's so obnoxious to me. Maybe it's that she's immature, or hasn't yet 'come into her own' yet...

I should say, most of the young singers get on my nerves, between the lack of clothes, the hyperactive focus on appearance, etc.... it'll be very interesting to see how many of them last the decade.

21. Well said
it's too bad her image shenanigans are distracting from her amazing voice. All she really needs is some decent material and a good producer and she'd be amazing. I too think eventually, once she gets those two things, she'll stun a lot of people. I can hear a really great voice with incredible range, through all the hype. She certainly has more talent in her little finger than Britney has in one fake breast.

24. I'm just
an old fart, but I like Pink. Her "Get the Party Started" video is funny and cute imo -- I'm no expert, just happened to see it in a bar. She's a tomboy, she admits. I also think she has 'soul' and doesn't just try to appeal to sexual instincts that others of her age do. Still it's not fun having any song stuck going round in your head.

23. You think that's bad...
I've found it's best just to give in.

The other day while I played my guitar, I happened to play a Csus in a certain rhythm that I recognized. I started to play around with it and before I could prevent it, I had learned all of "Close to You" by the Carpenters, chord melody style. I HATE THAT SONG. But it's so much fun to play that I can't resist it.

Give in ... come, be like us.
