Stylists needed! Everyone loving fashion front and center!

My daughter's prom dress is all white with a spattering of silver sequins on the bodice. She bought white gloves, and chandelier earrings and a cuff bracelet and shoes that are silver with fake diamonds the same glittery stone as the dress.

Our problems is the purse. Her date is wearing a black tux with a red tie and vest and white shirt. They are both wearing a red rose corsage. We bought a black simple clutch, but I am worried that that does not quite go with the dress. Maybe we should have gone with a white clutch or a red one? Her shoes have a simply black band on them, with the stones, but they won't show.

What do you think?

a purse, LOL!

She's not going to be dancing with it, she's not going to be taking pics with it, and depending on the type, she may use it again.

It might be tough finding just the right red to match her date's tie (and if it doesn't match that might be another minor headache).

She's got the dress, and she's got herself. She's good to go. Hope she has a good time!

5. The black purse kind of "anchors" the shoes, and visa versa,
if the band shows while she walks.
It all sounds very nice. Hope she has a good time. :)

generally shoes and bag match.

generally the shoes and bag don't match the dress.

they do some contrast or complimentary thing with the dress.

so, if it were me in this gown -- i'ld want shoes and bag that go with the dress but don't match the dress at all.

i wouldn't want red shoes in this case -- because you'ld be starting the statement all over again.

if my dress is white with silver -- i might want something like lavender shoes and bag -- soft colours, mauve or pink{but not loud}

something that will compliment my dress but also give the eye and end point.

p.s.s. i wouldn't dress to compliment the guy -- a little too matchy.

The shoes only match the gown in that the pattern of fake diamonnds on the black band of the shoes exactly matches the cuff bracelet. To me, the black purse is a great accent, a white purse would be too bridesmaidish. And if I can't go with a punch color, then I think black would be it.

How is the dress cut? I've performed in a LOT of gowns and I can tell you that a clutch is a bitch ubless you're dealing with going right to a limo (usually not the case while you're at a prom).

Look at her in both looks. One will seem more awkward to you (I suspect it'll be the clutch but I've been wrong before and I'm sure I'll be wrong again). Also, how is she wearing her hair? If the shoes aren't showing, there is little need to anchor them.

I know this is discombobulated (sp) but there is so much to consider!

9. I thought a crazy jeweled bag would be great, with a rainbow of colors
Daughter doesn't like it. How about taking the black bag and pinning on a broach with the same fake diamonds as the dress? I agree that the red would be too hard to match. Or maybe the white bag with a silver fake diamond broach?

10. The diamondy brooch is a good idea
I'd probably go for the white bag w/ silver sequins or the diamond effect...
otherwise a BIG sparkley rhinestone pin on the black bag would work.

I like your idea on the black bag though, a huge sparkley rhinestone pin might work. But then again I like the idea of a white bag with silver sequins. Both would look great. Aghhhhhh!!!!

or sequined clutch, any color (black or red) will overpower the dress and shoes(and a white bag is very bland). she certainly doesn't have to match her date and the corsage will look beautiful with anything she wears.
