Just Watched The Movie "Elizabethtown" and Loved It...Anyone Else?
It almost seemed as if it is the same movie as "Garden State," set in a different locale. I loved "E-Town," but I am the only person I know that did not get into "Garden State."

4. I liked it
It may have been the company I watched it with as much as the film, truth be told, but I thought it was a sweet (if slightly uneven) love story.

I especially like the travel scenes towards the end, particularly the "journal" KD's character put together ahead of time for whatshisname.

:D

6. I'm glad you liked it.

I usually love Cameron Crowe films, but this one just seemed too full of itself somehow. Not horrible, but I'm glad I only saw it on DVD rather than having paid full price.

I did like Garden State though.

7. I missed that one -- I think I'll rent it from the video store.
Hubby is preparing for a routine colonoscopy and is on a two-day liquid diet and other lovely "clean-'em-out" delicious (!) liquids. Boom-boom-BOOM!

We have to stay close to home (and the "chamber pot") until Tuesday afternoon.

9. I hated it, hated it, hated it.
I usually like Cameron Crowe, but I found this one to be a self-indulgent mess. The acting was terrible, most of the characters made no sense (and that goes double for Kirsten Dunst's, a walking deus ex machina), and the ending was just endless. I could go on and on for paragraphs about everything I loathed about that movie, but I don't want to ruin it for you, and I feel that to each his or her own. You can find someone who loves, or hates, just about every movie.

For the record, I loved Garden State.

11. I liked it better than I thought I would
I put off seeing it because it looked, from the previews, like a half-hearted knockoff of garden state, which I really liked. But I actually did like it when I saw it, particularly the trip at the end, as I've a particular interest in road movies, etc.

12. I thought it was terrible
It took a possibly interesting plot and loaded it up with a hundred thousand cliches. And Kirstin Dunst's character irritated the hell out of me the whole time.

Some people would regard the work she put into that book thing cute and sentimental.

I would be changing my name, and fleeing for Mexico

13. Ken Korda, the film's quirk regulator, talks about Elizabethtown

Of course Ken Korda isn't real! He's actually a character by the fantastic comedian Adam Buxton who was commissioned to do a series of short bits on weekly films. This is one of the weaker ones - you can get the rest through this link:

I think I'm going to wait for Elizabethtown to come to TV - it's far from a priority and I've had enough of that type of film for now (especially after a very bad experience with Me and You and Everyone We Know).
