Say Hi To Our Newest Family Member!
This is Dot:

Although the picture doesn't show it too clearly Dot is white with black splotches making him look rather cow-like. He also has a small black "Dot" on his toes.

We got Dot from (big surprise) the Northwoods Shelter yesterday when we were up there. He was taken by a neighbor from a family who didn't want him and put him outside to fend for himself. He's about 8 weeks old.

Sometimes I so do not like people.

6. Yeah, that's me!
He was just moved out of isolation the day we got there. I asked if I could hold him and he started chewing on my fingers.

You could say it was love at first...bite.

5. My two come from the shelter or off the street also.
My last dog was found in a box as a pup and I had him for about 17 years and was the best dog I ever had. A very pretty mutt. Now I have a 'hi-bred' style dog that I took in when someone died. It is a yapper.

12. Me, too! I said only two at first
only two because I thought the second one would keep the first one company when I traveled. Then my vet conned me into taking in two litter mates. Anyway, one died, I got suckered in by two more along the way and now we're a family of 5. Wouldn't trade or give up any of them.

In ink only kitties can read. They seek me out. I am indeed a sucker for little kitties. And big kitties. I love 'em all!

But a house never had more love.

10. What a cutie pie!!!
I am so happy to see people rescue animals from the shelters. 'Cause once an animal ends up at a shelter, it doesn't have much of a chance.

Good for you! I knew you wouldn't be able to resist another kitten!

Here are the latest pics of my new boys. They've discovered the joys of boxes this weekend. Of all the toys we got them, the fave is a box that my sister-in-law sent a present it.

He is absolutely adorable! Hope he quickly blends in with the rest of your family. How is your other young kitty adapting? Hissy fits at first, then watch the lamps!

23. Cider and Dot...
Weird thing that....

Cider STILL throws the other cats into hissy fits. Dot is actually liked by the other cats. It's odd.

29. It will take a while...
Have you heard of "Video Catnip"? It's a video made for cats. The DVD version has 2 hours of backyard bird footage. My Ricky is mesmerized by it. It occupies him forever... Maybe something like that would distract Cider.

I got that video - both cats slept through the whole thing! Gave it away to an employee with 6 cats - figured the odds were better for SOMEone to enjoy it!

25. Thank ya kindly!
We took him to see my mom today and he curled up in her arms and went to sleep. On the way home we stopped at the store and while Paul went in I held him and he went to sleep in my arms. He sleeps REALLY well! (He and Paul make a perfect match.)

28. Ramona had several Dots on her
Your baby got a nice home and it weren't for the JERKS you wouldn't have him right now. I hate people also they could have taken him to the shelter before sitting him out. I guess the drive was too far away. If someone put a baby out on the streets to fend for itself they would be in jail.

I love kitties. I want to adopt them all. It make me mad when people just abandon them like that.

4 of my 5 are abandons/strays.

I'm not so sure Cider is happy anymore....

Dot, even though quite a bit smaller, has been getting in some really good licks on him! They are like little pro wrestlers...except not faked.
