3. doggies are fully carnivorous
I think any bird is OK in the diet of a doggie.

The only prey I am aware of that doggies should avoid are salmonid fishes.

10. Actually dogs are omnivores (ever seen one eat grass or snag a carrot?)
Edited on Thu Apr-20-06 12:48 AM by LeftyMom
Like other omnivores, they do really well on a veg*n diet.

Cats, on the other hand, are obligate carnivores and can only subsist on plant-based diets with the help of synthetic supplementation (and even then it's problematic and I would not recommend it.)

8. my cocker spaniel twice got our parrot in her mouth and carried it around
We figured for the safety of the parrot, he better find a home without a dog. He is now living the life of Riley, absolutely spoiled to death by a precious little girl in our neighborhood. He is happy, and our dog isn't fixated on 'lunch'.

9. Well, a dog will eat just about anything. However...
Save the domesticated parrots for dogs. Wild, rare and endangered parrots are best left for the feral cats.

Please remember to have your feral cat circumcised.
