1 number short of 138 thousand dollars - more lottery news
In the NY lotter 5 numbers and the bonus number wins 138 k

I had 4 numbers and the bonus number. I won 14 bucks.

1 number - the difference between 138 thousand and 14.

And the Jets are about to lose.

And my birthday party got snowed out.

wah.

1. Well, it's $14 more than you would have had otherwise!
Think positively.

11. Yeah, but when you spend 30 on lottery tickets...
Well, let's not even go there!

2. Happy Birthdayyyyyy, to youuuuuuu
A friend used to play the same numbers every week, and a few years ago while he was out of state on vacation, THE NUMBERS HIT..

He was devastated.. It was only a 10 million (only..HA-ha)..but now he can never use those birthdays ever again..

3. Well here's the dilemma
So four of my numbers came out, plus a fifth as the bonus. Do I stop playing those numbers now - what if they come out?

But thanks.

5. The odds will never change.
You can play the same numbers every time. If 5 of them are picked one week, the chances of your same set of numbers winning the following week are exactly the same as they've always been.

IOW, there is no "law of averages."

8. Sure, why not?
I mean, your odds of winning were astronomical before, and they're still astronomical. ;-)

Hey, I still play the lottery now and then too so don't think I'm teasing you. :)

4. $14 can buy a few Sam Adams
the lager kind :D

Sorry for the cold, dreary and letdown of a day/birthday celebration. What can we do to cheer you up?

9. I think that a symbol
for a chic clothier pushing flannel with shoulder pads might be an option.

Or a scribe's symbol of a sort - for the playwright within.

10. LOL!
I went with the empire state building with Xmas colors, cause, well, it's Xmas, and that's what the empire state building happens to look like at the moment.

January 1st I'll consider that shoulder pad thing.

Damn it salin, now I have to go to the beer wholesaler tomorrow!!! ;)

Oh wait, I needed to anyway!!! Time to get two cases of the Winter Ale (love it, and it's 7.5%!!)

Good beer choice! Not to many people know about the superior lager!

Happy Belated Birthday...:toast:

13. heck what do I know...
I am still Full Sail pale ale (can't seem to find it in Indiana) - you would think that it is some highly superior beer the way I try to hunt it down... but its more for missing living in the Bay Area than for its uniqueness.

Worse yet - when in college we could get really cheap Little Kings Cream Ale. For years in my memory it was a fabulous beer - til I got to a Rathskeller that sold it - and talked other friends into sampling with me. Yikes! That was some egg on my face.

But the Sam Adams - it is a fine one indeed!

14. Humm...good luck w/Full Sail...
It's getting around. I saw it on tap tonight a NYC pub and once a few months ago in Hartford. But Indiana....whooo...good luck. Not much selection there, but if you're south of Bloomington, boy are there deals on hard liquor from Ken. and Tenn.!!! I really miss the ole' $10 bottle of Makers Mark....

Can't hurt to ask the local liquor store, they might just stock it!

15. not south of bloomington
actually in bloomington. So don't get the quick kentucky liquor - but the biggest liquor store does have a pretty decent selection. Can even get the scandanavian Akavit for the holidays.

Could try special order... but I don't know that i miss it THAT much (as I am sure the cost would escalate). So from time to time do the Sierra Nevada and pretend its the full sail.
