What's your favorite deli in NYC?
I am on a mission to hit all the greats since I missed out on 2nd Ave Deli  I lived here for 4 years (now 5) and always said "I'll go next week" - now - kablooie! No more 2nd Ave.

I will not abide another deli closing!

So what are your favorites?

Here's a pastrami sandwich from Katz's:

8. Carnegie's cheesecake is the best ever!
Ben's Kosher Deli in Bayside (Queens) is great too.

19. Isn't that Bens on Queens blvd? If so, I found the portions small,
the food a bit greasy and the help a bit distracted. I was there about 6 months ago. I do like that old style Knishe place that is somewhere around there.

21. I'm personally referring to the Bens in Bayside
in Bay Terrace shopping center, off of Bell Blvd?

I haven't been there since I left NY in '98.

4. Stop! Some of us are in deli-deprived areas....like DC
Where "deli" is considered a place in India.

Cruel and unusual to show all that wonderful pastrami to those of us in Elvis land.

Project is most important but geez, you're going to need to blow off some stress which can be done by either excessive beer drinking or protesting against a sham administration

18. Not many left. Sarge's is lesser known and not bad. Tal's Bagels
is not a deli but I dig them. Ever been to the Neptune Diner, 31-05 Astoria Blvd., Astoria, NY 718-278-4853 (just off the Grand Central at 31st/Hoyt) It is excellent.

Plus there's an H&H about 10 blocks from me and they rule the bagel universe.
