3. My dad took me to a Cubs game in I think 1964. Koufax vs. Ellsworth
Both had already won 20 games and had eras under 2.0! What a setup for a pitchers duel!
Score was 6 - 5 after one inning. Koufax and Ellsworth were long gone. No wind that day either.

5. Koufax got 'em the next year
Threw a perfect game against the Cubs on Sept. 9, 1965. He struck out the last six batters.

Bob Hendley lost a one-hitter that day. LA's only hit was a bloop double by Lou Johnson in the seventh. They got their only run in the fifth when Johnson walked, got bunted over by Ron Fairly, stole third and scored when Chris Krug threw it into left field.

Typical Dodger win in the Koufax era. :D

6. You know the old saying...
Moses was the first prophet, Koufax was the last. :D

8. Huh... never heard that one
I know the story, though, about the day Drysdale took a day off for something when Koufax was pitching. Koufax threw a no-hitter, and when somebody called Drysdale to tell him, he asked, in all seriousness, "Did he win?"

11. Johan is down on his luck so far...
But he pitched well tonight...

Twins can't seem to get their hitting and pitching to both perform on the same day!

KW did you see the news from the legislature?
