Worst Movies ever made
I nominate Manos, Hands Of Fate. Manos was created by an amateur filmaker from texas (a fertilizer salesman) who decided he could make movies. he hired local actors and raised a budget of 19,000$. He used a 16mm camera that could not record sound and could only record for 30 seconds at a time. All the dialogue was dubbed in later by 3 people.
the result is one of the most unwatchable, nonsensical films ever attempted. I could have made a better movie with a camcorder and a couple of friends improvising. There are scenes of people staring for minutes on end, no continuity (which means a charecter will be doing one thing, and in the next shot be doing something completely different) and several minute long shots of scenery. The plot, dialogue and acting are inane.

check out www.theagonybooth.com for bad movie synopsis. or go to the www.roguereviewers.com site.

3. aw c'mon
haven't seen manos, but it seems a bit cheeky to rail on an amateur's $19,000 budget film.

how about "che!" or "ishtar"?

most of my "worst movies of all time" are actually "most overrated", such as "dances with wolves". i thought it was utterly horrible, though i recognize that it has its fans for some reason....

6. Agreed on the "most overrated"
And my vote goes to "Jacob's Ladder"...it's bad enough for me to try to sit still for a 2 hour movie, then to find out "Oooooooh WOW, it was all just like, a HALLUCINATION, man! That's like so...deep!"

I was NOT happy. :grr:

31. Yes, it was awesome.
And it was more than just a hallucination. The film was offering a different take on hell. I'm sure lots of people would not agree with the movie's particular concept of hell but it made for a great story.

Edited on Mon Dec-08-03 12:22 AM by rustydog
"Viva Kenevel" (spelling?)

The life and times of Evel kenievel. Yea, uh huh, uh huh.

I accidentally went to the wrong theater and when the movie started, I saw the title and RAN to the box-office to get a refund and leave and was refused the refund...bastards.
Well, back then I was dirt-poor and I was not going to donate the ticket price to the local monopoly so I watched the dreck called a movie then loudly booed when it was over.

The movie flat-out sucks!!!!

15. Blair Witch. It was a scam, a con. And many bought it.
These people should be put in jail for pulling the heist that this movie was. Run around the woods with a camera and then sell it as a movie.

Suck squared.

18.  Battlefield Earth... anything with Rob Schneider or Pauly Shore
"I could have made a better movie with a camcorder and a couple of friends improvising. "

Ah, the line that's launched many a career. Hell, give it a shot! Sadly, its tons harder than it looks to actually finish. Which is why I have a tiny bit of respect for the Hal Warrens of the world - despite having nothing but a windup bolex and a few bedsheets for costumes, he MADE A DAMN MOVIE. Granted, not much of a movie - but still.

I can't say the same for the horrible stuff with millions of dollars behind it, with dozens upon dozens of people working for months to make... absolute shit...

43. That one was about the killer rabbits, right?
I never figured out how those could *kill* you...what could they do? Thump you to death?

Of course, I also crack up every Passover, when frogs are depicted as one of the Plagues of Egypt.

Frogs? Frogs??

Like, frogs are scary??? Sure, they'd be a bit disgusting if you had to step on frogs everywhere you go, but they'd also be delicious when sauteed in butter with garlic and mushrooms.

I also have a great recipe for rabbit cooked in port.

Godzilla 2000, maybe? was the worst I've ever seen in a theater. The worst I've ever seen is either Come Back to the Five and Dime Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean, which took place entirely in a beauty parlor, or the appropriately titled "Zero" which was a terrible WWII Japanese fighter pilot movie.
