Breaking: Scott McLellan shoots boy in face

NEW BERLIN, N.Y. A Binghamton-area man was arrested after he allegedly shot his nephew twice while turkey hunting.

Authorities say 46-year-old Scott McLellan of Apalachin has been charged with misdemeanor reckless endangerment.

Investigators say McLellan shot the 16-year-old Clifton Park boy while the two were hunting in the Chenango County town of New Berlin, 45 miles northeast of Binghamton.

The boy -- whose name wasn't released -- sustained numerous pellet injuries to his face, upper chest and arms. He's in stable condition at Albany Medical Center.

According to the sheriff's department, the boy was struck by bird shot when McLellan mistook him for a turkey.
