Stacie: Hi. I received a bill sent to the wrong name. "Jennifer" at the power company: Well, we can certainly help you with that. Can I have your name, please? Stacie: It's Stacie (Lastname). L-a-s-t-n-a-m-e. Jennifer: Hm. You're not showing up in the computer. Stacie: That's because you're not sending the bill to that name. Jennifer: Can I have your address? Stacie: (gives address) Jennifer: OK, I show a Jason Hislast and a Stacie Hedges there. Stacie: Jason Hislast is correct. Stacie Hedges is not. Jennifer: OK, we'll just need proof of the name change. Stacie: I have never been Stacie Hedges at this residence. I opened this account under Stacie (Lastname) and it seems someone took it upon themselves to helpfully give me my married name back. Jennifer: I'm sorry, we can't do this without documentation of a legal name change. Stacie: Can I speak with your supervisor, please?
(pause)
Supervisor: How can I help you? Stacie: I need to change my name on the account from Hedges to (Lastname). Supervisor: Okay.
:eyes:
I wonder what they would have said if my name had been flat-out wrong...would I have had to show proof that my name wasn't "Listname" or something?
