3. You did pretty well..as a designer, am saying this :-)

It does take a lot of effort to set up for showing a home for sale, and you did a lot of work! WTG!

Would remove the mixer, move the bowl with red fruit in it to the left side of sink, put away your cutting board from beside the stove (looks lik eyou;re covering something up, add a vase of flowers off the right side of sink (don't center on counter space area...set a bit farther tot he right and back...let the window light play on it). Add a tier of curtains to the window so the block wall is not the first thing seen through the window...and add some flowers in a couple of those hang over the top wire holders to the block wall. Move you salt and pepper to the small counter to the left of the stove. ANd put you rcoffee machin in the corner where the mixer is now.

(Hey..I do this for a living...prepare for sale :) )

Where you have the water bottle stored...is that actually a kitchen desk area...or...?

on edit: Vase of flowers is not what you have in your window at the moment....am thinking a grocery store bouquet in a larger vase...just thinking...
Anyway..PM me if you want help on this or any other room as you get ready to show for sale :hi:

4. thanks! the cut out where the water is is where I usually keep the
recyling bin. it's designed to be a trash masher thingie but we never got one

and you'll be hearing from me, thanks a bunch!

does the color work OK ya think?

we painted the grey to work with the old rose counters and now with the new laminate we're worried it doesn't work and we have a million other chores than repainting a room we did 6 months ago all over again!

9. The gray is a natural choice with the rose countertops
So, yes...good choice :)

Just be sure to add a bit more of a third color, blue...in the deeper shades. I see you already have a valance on your window, but if you spend few bucks at K-Mart or same type place, would change out for deeper blue valance and curtain tier, and would hang them using across the top rod rather than a tension rod...makes the window appear larger, thus your kitchen looks a bit more grand.

What's the sq. ft. of your home?

re: the trash masher spot...kind of thought that's what it was. Would store the water in the garage, and would add a small stool with fabric under there.

Even though there are a few things that make it inconvenient for you while you show to sell, it's really all about those looking to buy...and that's your target :)

Am glad you may PM. I love to help with design! Thanks!

10. we changed out the old rose for a "neutral canvas" formica that has
a lot more beige in it

the kitchen is HUGE, and it has a big eat in area on the other side of the room with a bay window with pink roller shades so if I do one window, i'll have to do them all (I can make curtains easily enough though)

the whole house is 2/2 at 1150 SF (MoL)

12. You can add blue valance to top off the roller shades
There are actually cornering/bay window rods that Penney's sells

http://tinyurl.com/gtysx

So, you don't have to change out the rose shades...just enhance them, and all will be connected color/design-wise in the space :)

18. No no no, the colors are fine. They're soft, nuetral, clean and nice. They
are perfect, don't sweat that at all!!!!

Paint is the least of a home-buyer's worries because it's the easiest thing to change.

Neon green, magenta, burgundy, etc, would be a massive problem. Your colors are lovely.

15. change the window treatment
to hide the concrete wall.bamboo or mini blinds. should be able to match a mini blind color to the wall at a big box or a local discounter blinds store. bamboo will match up fairly well with the wood. my wife and i sold window treatments for 15 years...

17. I agree. The concrete wall is a negative distraction so a nice bamboo
drop-down shade would be very sweet.

20. You need some pattern. You can get those hunter douglas window films
for the window. Kinda like a giant fruit roll up. You can cut it to size and the sides match perfectly. Go with Amber (Arts & Crafts) it will match!! Less than $40 I think. Artscape is the name of the company. But there are other brands out there. Home Depot sells them.
