Good Monday Morning, Crew!

:donut::hi:
Welcome to the Monday edition of the Early Morning Crew thread and the start of a new work week! :bounce: I hope you had a great weekend of fun and relaxation! They are too short, though, you know it? Saturdays and Sundays seem to just fly by! And now it's time to go back to work. I have this next weekend off so I'm excited about that! :woohoo:

We are going to have several house showings this week! My realtor set me up in his system so that I get notification of all new listings in my price range and so I get an e-mail as soon as the listing agent hits "Enter"! I have five houses we're going to go see as soon as he can set up the showing! I can't wait! :bounce:

So here we go with a brand new week! Let's start it out right!...Together! :bounce:

21. I finally got finished with my daughter's room and feel I deserve a
medal. Funny how no one else in the family feels that way. :rofl:

9. Putting on the finishing touches as we speak.
The deadline for a screenplay contest is in a few hours, which I should be able to meet.

After that, I'll take a couple of days off, then see if I need to retool anything, at which point I'll start marketing it.

4. Good morning Clint
my weekend was as I said it would be: lazy. Went out Saturday evening with my friend to the movies (Ice Age 2) and later to a café sitting outside and sipping on wine. Another friend came also after we called her. It was really nice. Yesterday I was just sitting in the sun and reading reading reading. I didn't watch any TV but read read read. It felt so good.

15. Oh yes I really enjoyed it
I even got my first light sunburn (it is gone already). I was sitting at the river yesterday and the wind was going. Of course you don't feel when you get burned then.

If the wind is blowing, it keeps you cool and you can't tell if you're getting burned. That's happened to be before too. I'm glad its gone already though...who wants to be sunburned like that for days and days? :shrug: How's your sweetie doing? Anything exciting going on in his corner of the world?

50. Not much exciting on that side
he is doing fine. He has a 50:50 chance to get the new job. He still has to meet with the big boss. After that interview it will be decided. But no date yet for the interview as the guy is out of town. But it looks good. I sure cross my fingers for him.
Other than that we email each day and miss each other a lot.

We did manage to spend a little time in the pool yesterday. Mom LOVES the pool ... and I like it when there's someone to share it with. So that was our little treat after all the packing. :D

Spending time at the pool and cooling off after all the work is a great way to relax also. You two deserved it :hug:

This afternoon I am alone at work. My boss is gone today and tomorrow. And my co-worker only has a half time job. The windows are open, the sun comes in, I have music on, no customers. Guess I put some cards into the catalog. They are piling up on my desk. I hate that task. But I think I will do it now. I will come back to the computer every so many minutes to check for answers :)

Your job sounds SO stressful! :rofl: (Actually, it sounds like a dream job!) Yeah, get those cards into the catalog so you can relax some more without thinking about doing it. :D

Might go in the pool again today. And then we're going to the Melting Pot for supper (fondue) for an early Mother's Day. It won't be crowded ... I can't go when it's crowded. And we're getting the table in the corner, away from everyone. I haven't been there in YEARS. :bounce:

and harleydad if he is coming. You have fun there. Fondue is yummy. Hope they have good A/C so that the smells won't bother you.

I have a great job. I am happy about it. Nothing I can complain about. Ok, sometimes I really wish there would be more customers. One just came. But he has his books on a table and doesn't need service. He is the former big boss from the institution.

harleydad is bringing the credit card! :rofl: :applause: Since it's a nice restaurant, the food preparation people and servers are educated about perfume (it transfers to food -- food service 101). That makes it nicer. And not many people go out on Monday night around here. :bounce: AND, the booths are all private, which sort of keeps other customer's smells to their own booth. Since we're getting a corner one, there's less "open" space. It'll be great! :bounce:

Your job really does sound great. And you get to come to DU while you're working! :woohoo:

We get the kirschvasser cheese fondue and I always get to drink the leftover kirschvasser! :rofl:

I'm sure I'd be posting at DU if I still worked. As long as you get your stuff done. :bounce: It is fun here! I don't know how I'm going to live through the time between when my service here is disconnected and the new one is hooked up. It could be DAYS! Maybe even THREE days ... or MORE! :scared:

The movers are coming on the 2nd, Friday. We're leaving that night or early in the moring on Saturday. Doesn't matter when we arrive ... we won't be able to get anyone there before Monday to hook up the cable. Maybe if I call them TODAY, they'll get there first thing when we arrive. I'm going to have some seriously withdrawal! :scared:

It's really fun to dip the bread into the kirschvasser before dipping it into the cheese. :9 Of course, they only leave me a tiny bit in the pitcher ... but they wouldn't even leave that if harleydad didn't tell them to. :rofl: Then we'll get brandy in the chocolate fondue. :rofl: Wanna come? :bounce:

two weeks ago. I decided this weekend I use for myself not for my apt. Even though I still need to wash the windows and need to do some laundry. Oh and my taxes. I just wanted to do something good for myself and reading in the sun was heaven. It was so relaxing.

thing to do in the summer is sit in the back yard and read. Unfortunately, I've got new neighbors who have these two stupid yappy dogs. A few weekends ago I was sitting reading and they barked the entire time. Hopefully this is NOT a sign of what's to come! That would be most upsetting.

I have major happy butterflies about everything. Seeing Phil again feels so odd to both of us. He's already bummed out about the miles between us but that's just the way things are. I'm so excited about my trip west that I'm already extending my time away from home. It's 44 hours of drive time to my first stop. That's going to take days. I have 6 definite locations where I want to hang out for two or three days.
Eeep! So many wonderful DUers to meet and so little time! Maybe I should just get off the plane from Florida and head straight to California.

I canceled my order for the rebel. One question on my thread about the new camera sent me looking a little more closely at my purchase :grr: I'm going to place an order this afternoon for a better choice. Rex was teaching me a few new things about cameras and reminding about the things Teddy had taught me :cry: but I forgot. There were so many good choices on the site Rex sent me to that I became overwhelmed and went to bed. On the flip side of my Friday travels ~ I really am looking forward to my new laptop which I ordered when I went looking for a camera. I didn't cancel that part of the sale. :)

198. It was the weight of the laptop as I carried it from my car to Dell.

I checked before I drove up to Albany but the kiosk had moved to the far end of the mall. My new Dell seems to be 1/3 the x( weight of my old one. Yes, faster is better but only sometimes. :evilgrin: I went to bed before we finished sorting out my needs for the new purchase but we'll work it out this afternoon after he wakes up.

It wasn't bad once I figured out what was going on but I must confess that I verbally removed a few layers of skin from my employees (and Jon) before I got a grip on what was troubling me. No one quit because they loved me when I was my normally nice self but I was a royal bitch on wheels until I figured it out.

Our buyer came over on Saturday to learn how to work the pool pump and other things. He brought pizza and we had a little party. It was fun -- he's really a nice guy. :woohoo: His mortgage is officially approved, so we're on our way!

I packed up all the remaining boxes that I had. Now harleydad has to get me a few dozen more so I can continue. It's pretty exhausting. Hopefully, four weeks from now I'll be writing from TN! :bounce:

We chatted with Dell last night -- they're going to send me a new fan and heatsink if they can get my warranty updated correctly. I don't know what that means ... I was SO scared last night b/c the guy at Dell told me to run a test on my laptop. But when I did, the screen turned completely grey and it beeped a pattern at me instead of completing the test. Then it wouldn't boot up again. I thought I had fried my video card or something worse. But now that it's cooled down, it starts up fine. Whew! They're going to send me a new fan and heatsink, but I hope they send the right one! (There are two and I need the one for the video card.) Anyway, I didn't want it to be something so bad that I had to send it to them! What a nice time for this to be happening. :rofl:

Actually, I don't mind the packing. And my mom has been a great help. She was an Army wife, so she's done her share of packing and she's quite good. I just have to settle her into a chair with a box in front of her, paper within reach, and hand her the stuff. Harleydad wanted to pay the movers extra $$$$ to pack everything, but I thought that would be a bad idea since we're only unpacking selectively once we get to the rental house. If I pack, I'll know exactly what's in each box ... well, at least I'll describe the contents more precisely than they will. I'm letting them do the ultra-fragile stuff and the important things like the piano and grandfather clock. That way, it'll be THEIR fault if anything goes wrong. :D

The piano is my biggest concern once we get ready to move into our new house. I don't think we two can get the damned heavy thing into a truck and then back out again. :shrug: I don't know what we're going to do.

196. Local movers can do it.
That's your best bet. Moving a piano is very dangerous unless you know what you're doing. And uprights are extremely back-heavy. Local movers will simply charge by the hour, so it won't be a big deal if they only move the piano. Call a few and find out what they say.

When our house is built and we're ready for our local move, we're going to use a company up there to just move the heavy and/or important stuff. I already talked to them and that's what they told me.

I'm having multiple conversations, too.

It doesn't hurt to ask. And your piano is worth more than $500. We paid only $900 to move our baby grand down from VA in 2002 with Modern Piano Movers, the best piano movers in the country. So I can't imagine it would cost even half that much to move yours across town.

Still waiting for those pics. (Just bustin' your chops ... you're doing well keeping up this thread. :hug:)

Looks like you're in a good mood. House hunting should be fun. Good thing you get first dibs on the listings. Gives you a bit of an edge.

I took off work early on Friday, (well, only an hour) was just burned out. Went home and slept, then ate supper and slept some more! Didn't realize that I was that stressed out. This week will be a breeze compared to last week.

Weekend was fine. We had great weather here and I concentrated on domestic stuff.
