Keep my sis in your thoughts
Well, we dodged a bullet 10 days ago when my sister's biopsy came back negative.

However, yesterday while helping a neighbor, she fell off of a ladder and managed a compound fracture of the ankle as well as a fracture to one of the bones in her lower leg. She spent the better part of yesterday afternoon in surgery.

She and her husband are self-employed, so while they are covered by her military health benefits (she's retired Coast Guard) they still have to earn a living. My brother-in-law cannot stop working to stay home and take care of sis.

My mom is going up to help with the nut business this week, and I'll probably be going up next week to help.

(BTW, the nut business is www.houseofnuts.com)

Whatever good wishes, positive energy, prayers, vibes, karma, or voodoo (not to mention nut business) you can send will be greatly appreciated.

3. update: this was a pretty serious injury.
My sis is a VERY active woman. She lost 70 lbs. about 3 years ago, and since then she works out (treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike, along with weights, etc) for at least 2 hours every day.

It is likely that she will never again to use her treadmill for more than a walk. Her workouts, once healed, are going to be drastically different.

And this healing may take months. She's a Weight Watcher's group leader, but I don't think she's going to be able to even drive for a while.

I'm very afraid for her. I know she's very blue.
