My kids want to become Wiccans because of Scooby Doo!
hee hee...if my mother in law (born again) found out she would die...

So how did this happen...???

Well they were over at grandmas while I was doing chores for grandma...and they were watching some Scooby Doo...and somehow there were Wiccans in the story line...and my two kids are so enraptured by the idea of a mother earth religion...that they are all keen on learning more about the Wiccan religion...and of course being a bleedingheart liberal..I will oblige..because knowledge is power...

They make a talking sponge look normal.

7. At least they pay attention when they watch tv.
I only watched cartoons for the funny voices, i didn't pay attention to anything else when i was young.

8. I had to read "The Mists of Avalon" before I even knew what it was
My only reference prior to that was Stevie Nicks, who was never really taken seriously in wicca.

I don't practice wicca anymore, though, and am a liberal christian. I practiced wicca when I went through a period where I couldn't relate to the idea of a male deity. It gave me a sense of empowerment when I needed it, and I certainly have no problem with those who practice it. For women who have been abused sexually and spiritually, wicca holds great value, in particular. It is part of my spiritual development as much as the fundamentalist christianity I practiced as a high school student.

I have had a series of spiritual experiences with the Holy Spirit and there's really no going back from it to something else, at least not for me.
