Poll question: Age old question that has plagued humanity? Short or long hair?
So this is what happened. I've had fairly long hair for a while now. Not rocker long, not even shoulder length, but sort of getting shaggy. My girlfriend LOVES when I keep my hair longer. She even told me YESTERDAY that she didn't really like my last haircut (I got it buzzed fairly short), even though she told me she did at the time. My girlfriend is a miserable liar (lol..and she reads DU so she probably read that).

Anyhow, I just got it buzzed REALLY SHORT. She is going to hate it, but my hair gets really greasy fast when I have it long and I hate combing it. Not to mention the fact that I usually get more attention when I cut it short, which is nice. I swear it makes me look tougher!

That aside, I wanted to post a poll to ask the ladies on DU...what do you prefer, long or short? The gentlemen may add their two cents, but unless your gay (i.e only people who like men should be in the poll), don't respond to the poll part.

Lets see what results we get.

1. Dang!
How could you say that ponytails and mullets were equivalent?

(I'm proud to wear a ponytail-- frizzy and graying, but proud!)

4. They aren't equivalent
Mullets are wayyyy better :D

I just put them in the same option because they are special cases. I.e. I'm guessing most people won't pick 'em. Sorry! hehe

11. Editing that picture
Would practically be a crime against humanity - definitely a crime against aesthetics.

5. While I love having a little bit to "hang onto" at the nape of his neck,
I don't mind short hair. I got over long hair a long time ago, and (and this is purely due to my experience) due to a horrendous, horrible relationship with a creep, I tend to not like long...really long...hair on a man.

8. Short - but long enough to play with.
I have a hair-fetish, and like to run my fingers through it - but I don't like untidy hair, which necessaitates it being fairly short.

12. Depends on how rough things get.
I mean most of the time I'm just loving, gentle and affectionate - but there are times when a bit more is called for.

14. I like it fairly short, but not bald or buzzed.
Edited on Tue May-09-06 06:51 PM by Iniquitous Bunny
My guy's hair is great for my tastes, but ultimately, IT'S HIS HEAD and not mine. If he wants something different, no biggie. I still love the man underneath.

Edit to say:
An ex of mine had a buzz after he started thinning. He looked great in it. When you get thin or bald naturally, please don't fight nature with some God-awful combover.

15. if you are going to have longish hair -- you have to be really
Edited on Tue May-09-06 06:57 PM by xchrom
stylin -- the latest cuts that look best for you.

sloppy longish hair isn't nice looking on a guy -- and you should be into product if you have greasy hair as you described.

you are geting positive play for the buzzed off hair -- and i'ld go with that.

you seem to indicate that your kinda trippin on the short hair -- and that would be another positive feed back.

sometimes i think our so's aren't great at being able to tell what's nice for us.

and frankly -- men's stylin is hard because it's soo simple.
