In GD, most of what you will find is people with low post counts shitting on each other's canidates. In the lounge, you will have fun. Simple as that.

Yes, there are a lot of people with low post counts taking shits in GD. That's a fact. Same with high post counts.

If you don't like the Lounge, don't come in. Why do you feel the need to call people out who prefer to stay out of the counterproductive flame wars in GD?

People come to the lounge to discuss cute pets, stupid televisions shows, intense experiences, and a lot of things that indicate that there is really a human being behind the usernames.

However, no one cares about that sort of mush ;) at General Discussion. GD isn't about developing relationships or relieving stress or entertaining yourself with other lefties. GD is about proving a point - however ridiculous, short-sighted, or mean-spirited the threads become.

Whats the difference? No one reads my posts anyway...

But seriously (in case someone is reading this) I like the Lounge but I don't hang out here too much becuase its alot like a chat room. Thats a good thing, but it can also be a bad thing.
And GD is entertaining.

"Why Dean Can't Win"
"The Democratic Party is Too Liberal"
"The Democratic Party is Not Liberal Enough"

but, GD finds harmony...

Just lots of stupid and paranoid people, shouting down the few sane and reasonable people, burying their good threads with crap like "Will Hillary be Dean's running mate?" and "I post flamebait because I have nothing good to say about my candidate!". The ignore feature is my friend, as is the hide a thread feature.

The Lounge is where we are allowed to be well-rounded people, and not just creatures of politics. In time, you will find that the smartest, most progressive DUers favor the Lounge.

Seriously, these people all sound like RW plants, pissing all over the sane posters with nazi claptrap about "Gore's misuse of words" or "Dean screwed himself." or some other flame-retarded nonsense...Which of course is not put there in the spirit of opening up dialogue, but to get in digs and twist knives already buried deep in wounds. And forgive me for being elitist, but many of those posters are relative newbies....

30. When a poster steps up to the GD plate, and his/her 47th post is:
"Why Dean can't Win" or "Why Clark is a War Criminal" or "Why Does Everybody Hate Hillary Here?" it tends to turn me off. Sorry. That's happened a lot lately, and it really pisses me off. There's lots of cool newbies and I don't mean to paint all new DUers with the same brush, but among the increasing ranks here at DU there are also a bunch of new people who seem like obvious disruptors to me...or who at least have nothing substantive to add to the soup.

and I can't tell with some of the posters if they are really for a particular candidate, or if they just want to make sure all dems are trashed.

either way, I find it totally unconstructive.

Although I'm not one of the best and brightest, ala the Zomby Woolf Coffee Crew, that is, of course, my goal in life. :)
