Good Friday Morning, Crew!

:donut::hi:
Welcome to the Friday edition of the Early Morning Crew thread! :woohoo::bounce: T.G.I.F! :bounce: One more work shift until the weekend begins and even I have Saturday and Sunday off this time! I hope yesterday was as good a day for you as it was for me! I saw several houses and now have two top contenders to consider! :bounce:

I'll post pictures of both in just a little while, so keep an eye out for those. I need to upload them to my Photobucket account and then you'll see them! I worked it out so that I had the day off as a paid personal day, so I got paid to go house hunting! How cool is THAT?!

Do you have any big plans for the weekend? I hope so and I hope you get to take it easy and relax!

So let's get this day started so it will be over that much quicker! :bounce:

58. Taking my Aunt home, staying over until Monday morning.
I will have a long weekend.

I am a night person so getting up early was not my idea of fun.

I got used to getting with the chickens never liked it.

I loved the country so peace and quiet, the city sounds so loud now.

They live about two and a half hours from here. Close enough that I can see them basically whenever, but far enough away that I really can't see them whenever. :P

My Grandmother just moved in with them because of her health so I'd like to see her, as well.

125. Yes. I can probably get a job in a private school
since I don't actually have a teaching certificate yet. There are also several lateral entry programs around the country where I can get my 90 hour certificate and teach at the same time. I want to teach literature and writing, but with my degree I can also get away with teaching some of the other arts such as theater (though I have very little experience in theater).

If I can't manage any of these, I may try to get into editing/publishing.

154. I'll get the certificate eventually.
I'm tired of being a student for now, and I'd like to work for at least a few years before I go back. Plus, I think one can earn a bit more in private schools as salary is not determined by the state or the county. A friend of mine who graduated last fall got a job in a private school for $32K/yr. The average starting salary in this state for public school is $27K I believe.

I could have a lot of fun with that thing. A little garden and you don't have to worry about little critters eating all your plants.

But Captain Lifesaving relexes managed to escape without injury. (Ok there is a small deep bruise in my wrist).

On an adrenalin high for several hours. Then crashed out of it. Now back to normal.'

166. AAAAAAAAAGH!
*grumble*

Even streaming songs actually involves the same flow of information, for which I am charged.

You didn't think there was no exchange of info occured when you surfed the net, did you?

Anyway, you are forgiven already  :pals::hug:

Just remember: Any time information is sent to you it is technically a download.

181. "OH NO!" I say "That's terrible"
One last time: When you stream a song, this involves a flow of information from a server to your computer. This is known as a download.

So I do get charged only when I download, but streaming is the same as downloading as far as the information going through the server is concerned.

Anyway, changing the subject... do you like parsley?

187. Changing the subject back...
I understand now...here's how I thought you were charged: You pay a monthly fee for your internet. But you get charged a surcharge for every MB you "download"...and by download, I mean something you have to click on and download the information to your computer like a song. Well...you're going to say again that streaming a song is the same thing...we're not getting anywhere with this are we?

191. Nope. Do you like merry go rounds? Wait, I have the solution.
There is a set of info sent from the server. Your computer could either save it or stream it. It doesn't know, and charges the same.

Problem solved.

Anyway, what is the weather like there?

When I worked in an alcohol/drug treatment center, I did meditations for the patients every night. They said I was hands-down the "bestest" one of all the counselors who lead meditation sessions. And, anecdotally, I saw it work very well.

121. OoooOOoooh can I ask a question? (NOT one against ethics standards)
For what type of patients/problems/disorders? The studies thus far have been on Major Depressive Disorder patients & anxiety.... were yours not these?

(I am not majoring in psych. Also, in this university it is strictly a science, I am more physics and Chemistry and Math, so not too many big words!)

P.S. Due to the nature of Aussie degrees, psych is a full quarter of my studies. So I am not THAT bad at psych.

P.P.S. The studies that far have concluded it is effective vs. depressed patients of more than two episodes & from non-environmental patients in prevention of relapses, and more generally good at reduction of overgeneralised autobiographic memory.

The kitchen is very pretty and has much potential for redecorating. A big back yard is a huge plus, especially with two dogs. Through the one picture it looks like the surroundings are fairly wooded, which would be a plus for me. I like trees. :P

Greekspeak likes this one better too!
The only drawback to this house is that it doesn't have a dining room. So, we'd have to use one of the bedrooms as a dining room. There are LOTS of trees in the backyard! House one isn't fenced, so we'd have to install that. It DOES have a great patio, though!

No plans for us this weekend. Well, harleydad might climb back into the attic to retrieve the rest of our stuff. That's what I was doing when I hurt my back. I'm going to continue packing today. It's storming, so no chance of a pool break. Maybe the rain will put out the fires! :bounce:

I'm glad I found a couple of good ones too! Of the two...I, personally, like the first house better...I think it's bigger. Greekspeak likes the second one better because it's older and has more character. I don't know what to do. It's already had it's inspector and WDO inspections, so I wouldn't have to pay for those! But it doesn't have a dining room so we'd have to make one of the three bedrooms a dining room.

163. It's always hard when you don't agree.
Does the second one have any kind of eating area? What's beside the kitchen ... the living room? And is that carpet on the floor? With pets, the tile is SO much easier. (And, after ripping up the carpet in our house, I would never again buy a house with carpet unless I had extra money to replace it with tile or something else.) Are you all done looking? Maybe you can find something you both fall in love with. Do you have the Sq. Ft. for both of them?

170. Yeah, it's tough...
The only "eating area" in house 2 is the bar area. You can see it in one of the pictures. The living room is right in front of the kitchen, but it's not big enough for the dining set we have. It's all carpeted. We're thinking it might be hardwood floors underneath it, but we're not sure. The carpet is brand new. We're not finished looking...I'm going to see what pops up in the next few days. House 1 is 1100 sw.ft and house 2 is 1060 or so.

178. Well, if it's in the running,
request a second look ... and go back with a pair of pliers so you can lift a corner of carpet (maybe in a closet) and see what's underneath. I'm favoring house 1 myself. :loveya: But you're just starting. There are lots of houses out there to look at. Our buyer told us he never looked at so many before.

182. I hadn't thought of that...
(pulling up a corner of carpet to look). That's a good idea! I like all the tile in the first place too. The first one is cheaper also...they're asking $118,000 but the listing says to bring all offers! the second is listed at $129,900 but the listing agent told our realtor that if we offered in the low 120's, he could probably do the deal. I think we need to look at at least a couple more, don't you?

189. We did that with our last house.
It was old (1940) and we didn't like the carpet. Turns out that it had oak floors throughout. I'd rather have tile in FL, though ... especially if it's directly over concrete. I'm surprised the listing agent would say anything to your realtor about offers. They usually keep mum about it. And that's not much of a discount in this market. I bet you could start lower than that.

Yes, you do need to look at a few more, just to be sure. Especially if you'r undecided ... or not agreeing ... about these two.

Ah yes, I concur with the rest of the group. I like the second place better. But . . . if you're not fully satisfied, I think you should keep looking.

I had some competition for the computer this morning. I'd have to see more info, but I'd go with the first one. I don't know what the exposure is, however, I like the little shaded patio. It looks newer too. I'm not sure I'd chance the 50's thing in FL (as I said, I don't know the details). Although the second one has a big back yard, that's not always a plus for busy people.

Well, you could get an estimate on that from Lowe's or Home Depot. Then you could compare the two. How old is the heating/a/c system, type and age?? Plumbing age, electric. Age of roof on both too - that can cost a bundle.

215. Hi tj.

It's been a good morning in spite of the rain.
I have a bit of work to do this afternoon serving legal papers regarding a child custody case.
Then I'll start a crock pot of Brunswick Stew when I get back home.
